The sight worked pretty well once I put on the correct glasses, long story. It is a gun site like I have used in the past which I like, once it's set you don't have to touch it again. The sight adjusts with allen keys which I prefer and then locks down with a smaller key to prevent vibration issues, overkill for a telescope but better than the alternative. Some may find the lowest setting a bit bright but the single red dot can help with that. I have it on a Skywatcher Evostar 100ED and works great with the factory mount.

perfect for wide field scopes. Metal construction does not flex like cheaper red dot finders. Good range of brightness settings. Easily adjusted and very accurate- the mount fits standard Syntha/Orion style finder shoes. Great where there isn't room for a full size Telrad. I put this one on an 80mm APO f/6 scope and will probably buy at least one more. Simple powdercoat finish on extruded aluminum mount; body appears mostly die cast metal with a few plastic parts. Aiming adjusters are made of metal and hold well. Supplied with hex keys required to adjust and lock settings. Has a nice rubber cover to protect reflective window when stowing in cases.

Using as a finder for my telescope.Accurate once dialed in, but took some time and effort with the little wrench. But, once setup, incidental bumps don’t change the alignment. Easy to look through from several inches behind it. Adjustable brightness, but I wish it could be dimmer to help see the star target easier.Overall though it is working great for me.

I assumed I would not like this. In general I like red dot finders, but I have had so many bad experiences with them, I have had at least 3 break, and finally gave up on them. And then this comes along and it's twice the price! But the difference is this: this one doesn't break. It delivers, but it doesn't break. That was all I needed, now this is my main finder, I only get out a scope when I need to (e.g. to look at the coat hanger). One odd feature: because it was originally intended as a gun sight, you have to use an Allen wrench to adjust it. The clicks are slow small and incremental that it takes a lot just to sight it in. But now that I have it, I can just slap it on my telescope and it will be dead on every time. Nice. Did I mention this has become my main finder? I am very happy with this, it is well worth the price.

Though this is a solid piece of kit overall and the adjustable brightness and finder types is nice, the major flaws in this take away from it. If you have a permanent setup these flaws may not be a problem for you.First major flaw is you need an allen wrench to adjust the finder. All my other finders like this have dials or wheels. This is a real pain to have to find the wrench/key every time i need to align it.The first major flaw wouldn’t be an issue issue if it were not for the second major flaw which is that it doesn’t hold alignment... the “laser†itself does... but the overall unit and it’s bracket are very sloppy. The slightest bump or touch and it gets knocked out of alignment. My setup is on a scope buggy and just the light bumps from rolling it out to the yard knock it out of alignment. If you’re truly portable and take the finder on and off your scope then forget about it... it NEVER lines back up if you take it on and off as the unit is sloppy/loose on its bracket... it has a ton of flexure. It’s a shame - the core unit is solid but the bracket they’ve put it on and the allen wrench adjustments make this a frustrating piece of kit that is always out of alignment...

The two colors are useful, but the 5 brightness settings are the real selling point. If you're looking at something bright, like a Jupiter, you can crank up the brightness to help you distinguish your target. If you want to aim at something dimmer, like the nebula in Orion, then you can notch the brightness down so it's comfortable to view.If you want to zero-in and range your scope in the day time, against a far-off light pole or street lamp, you can change to the green color and the sight works just as well.I use this for my telescope, but the reflex sight itself (without the stand) is compatible with a Picatinny rail. Which is surprising, but not totally unwelcome.

This will be used for a non magnifying finder on a telescope. The different targets are easy to see unlike some of the ones just for telescopes. Mounts to the mount base for telescopes like it was made for them with no side play at all. Will find out if the up down and left right are fine enough. If not, will figure out something because this is just what I was looking for. Great quality, solid all metal , glass is very good, you must buy a battery as this does not come with one.

Picatinny rail to telescope? Bought "universal" adapter that only picks up one screw hole on a Celestron CPC 800. Reticle sloppy and thick visually. Lowest brightness setting too bright. Variable patterns nice idea but with a central dot it blocks out star making the positioning weird. No instructions so I suggest you use 1.5mm allen to back out locking screw 5 turns to not interfere with R/L adjustments. Lock is overkill with this application. I do like the L/R adjustment screws.
