They work well, no more twisted up hoses with my MX6. They do leak small amounts of air so fittings have to be full submerged all the time to work properly so don’t suck air.

I recently got a new Hayward TracVac, which came with all new hoses. The vacuum is great, but the hose kept getting twisted up. This prevented the vacuum from traveling around the entire pool. The people at Leslie’s told me that the vacuum was broken because they didn’t know it was brand new. Then they said that the hoses needed to be replaced. Again, they were brand new. Anyway, I put one of these swivel connectors in between the first and second hoses and I haven’t had a problem since. Very pleased.

Other reviewers are correct, these swivels leak a lot of air, but this s not an issue if you keep them submerged. I have a Zodiak suction vacuum and I added a hose weight 6" on either side of the swivel. I used two swivels in my hose for a 30' long pool. The weights keep the swivel submerged, but do not sink it to the bottom. this is important not to add too much drag on the hose or the unit will turn around before it reaches the far end of the pool. You might have to play a bit with the location and number of swivels, but for me this solved the problem and the hose does not get coiled up and the cleaner reaches the entire pool. Yo also will not have any trouble priming the pump and no air is drawn into the pump while the vacuum is operating. You can find the hose weights on amazon and they are very inexpensive - a 4 pack is $15.99. I hope this helps.

As others have stated, these do have a small amount of leakage through the swivel. It isn't enough to cause a significant drop in suction, but if they are allowed to come to the water's surface, they may allow air to be sucked into the filtration system. So long as they remain submerged (I use hose weights) there is no problem and they work great.

We first bought this to use at the end of the hose that attaches to the vacuum. It works pretty well there, but not enough to prevent hose twist on the rest of the hose. I figured I would put the second one somewhere in the middle of the hose, but that didn’t work out. Too much air leaks into the swivel, as the tolerances are very loose. I ended up getting an in-line leaf trap, which adds weight and sinks the hose underwater for 4-5’. I added the second swivel there, since the leakage wouldn’t cause air to come in. Not ideal, but solved the hose twist problem. I feel like there has to be a better way to solve Vhe hose twist issue but this is my best attempt so far.

I bought thinking it would fit my Pentair vacuum head and it is too small.

Wasn’t even looking for this particular product but (very thankfully) came across it by chance while stocking up my cart with pool supplies. Our Hayward Navigator pool vac has worked well for years but every once in a while the hose line decides to twist itself up into a tangled mess. Very happy to have come across these swivel connections as I had no idea they even existed but knew this would likely solve our hose tangling problem. I purchased the two pack and strategically added both of these inline on the length of hose to the Navigator, and by strategic I mean I put them between hose sections that remain below the surface of the water as some others have commented the swivel connections can suck a bit of air if left floating right at the surface, so long as they stay underwater they basically self seal and it’s a non issue. So far the hose has remained completely tangle free with these installed a couple weeks now and have also noticed the pool vac articulates and makes turns around the pool more freely than before, can probably attribute that to less tension on the hose line going to to gearbox of the cleaner which theoretically should mean less wear and tear and longer life out of those parts. Debating adding another pair of connectors to the hose for good measure but so far so good, it hasn’t been necessary. Would definitely recommend.

I thought this would be great to keep my automatic pool vacuum line from twisting up and becoming knotted while it is running. It's winter her so I haven't tried them yet but I checked and they fit the hoses really well. I have the hose that cones in 3 foot sections and it fits nicely between fittings.
