  • The hand pump leak detection tool pressurizes on the reservoir, and watch for pointer drop over time to confirm system leak down. If there is any crack in the cooling system, the water in the tank will leak out under pressure and show the fracture position, such as the tank, hose, a loose connection, etc. You can check regularly, repair promptly and avoid leak result in the reduction of coolant and boiling point, high engine temperature, low oil viscosity and other serious problems.
  • Specification: The coolant pressure tester kit uses aluminum pump cylinder rather than plastic one, 21.2" rubber nylon resin hoses, brass fittings, solid and durable. 3" large dial gauge with index range 0 to 35psi (0 to 2.5bar), easy to observe. Chrome plated brass quick coupler with relief valve, can be connected to radiator adapters easily and quickly.
  • Easy To Use: Remove the original radiator cap, choose an available radiator cap from the coolant vacuum refill kit and install it on radiator opening. Work the handpump till the pressure up to 10-15psi (Avoid up to 35psi). Check the gauge reading, if the reading drops automatically, it means that the leakage might occur in radiator. Please inspect the radiator system and repair it if necessary. Normally, it takes around 10mins to test leak, very easy and fast to operate.

How to Use

1. Open the radiator cap. Before open it, make sure it’s cooling state.

2. Choose applicable cap adaptor for vehicle.

3. Fasten the radiator opening meanwhile check if the gasket is applicable.

4. Insert the joint into adaptor.

5. Take out the hand held pump, pressurize to about 15PSI-20PSI

6. Check pressure gauge: (1) If the gauge pointer maintain in several minutes, the system is normal to work; (2) if the pointer drops, the system has crack due to pressure damage, you should maintain it and make sure the system can still work after the maintenance.

7. After the check, release pressure from decompression valve till the gauge return to zero.

8. Before you collecting tools: (1) Insert the adaptor into joint, pressurize a few times, expel residual water and air in the hand held pump, then you can collect; (2) Inject gas into the tail air inlet of the hand held pump, lubricate the piston of the tube. Then insert adaptor into joint, pressurize a few times, expel residual gas in the hand held pump, then collect the tools.

I have been adding coolant multiple times a week to my VW golf for months now. I have spent hours in my driveway trying to figure out where the coolant is leaking from. I was starting to think I had a blown head gasket. Within 5 minutes of connecting this coolant pressure kit, I found the coolant leaking out of the bottom corner of my radiator. Well worth the $$ I spent on this kit!

Item comes delivered in generic packaging so was a little concerned when I received. However. It performed perfectly on my 1970 Corvette. Directions is not well written but you can you tube how to do pressure test. Very easy and gives you confidence in cooling system operation.

Great Coolant Pressure Tester but the Mercedes Adapter dose not fit a 1969 MB 2280SL so I have to find a adapter or send the Kit back.Kit is well make! Just not fit for my Car

If you own 2 or more cars and you're a handyman or a car DIY'er, this tool may work for you. This kit have a wide array of radiator caps that was said to fit some north American and Asian cars. The case seems to be durable while to tools fits their slots. Simple to use test tool, however, in my case, the radiator cap that fits my Hyundai/Kia is leaking. I don't have any choice than to return this tool. I borrowed another set from a friend who have a similar tool like this and diagnosed accurately where the issue is coming from.
