I've had this stylus for a couple of weeks now and am really enjoying exploring vintage 78s. It fits the old AT-3600L cartridge I had lying around perfectly and sounds surprisingly good.I bought another headshell so I could swap it out easily with my usual cartridges. I wanted to listen in mono, but don't have a mono button on my amp. I didn't want to hassle with Y-cords, so I researched a bit online and found that if the cart is wired in series instead of parallel (like with Y-cords) it cancels out the vertical stereo stylus movement and thus any noise/phasing.I wanted to show this wiring but was having difficulty photographing it clearly. So I drew up a couple of diagrams if you want to try it. I'm very happy with the results. Some of these 70 to 80-year-old records have little to no surface or other noise―—it's pretty amazing!BTW, there are other ways to do this wiring without cutting pins or soldering. Just google "Making Mono - When Two Become One" and look at post #62, for example. This method involves wrapping thin wire around certain posts.

Hunting down a proper cartridge and/or stylus for playing 78 rpm records can be a nightmare and expensive. But, this guy being 20$, i had to try it (after all, i had 2 at3600l carts laying around anyways)It blew me away how much fuller and better 78s sounded not only using a magnetic cartridge, but also using the correct stylus!It comes packed VERY well in a hard plastic case, and the neon green color is great to identify it as a 78 stylus (i just sharpied 78 on the front anyways)Overall, if you want to play 78s, or even digitize 78s, this is a no brainer!
