Bought this to replace a discwasher system I had been using. I found that the discwasher was causing an increase in static charges in my records. Bought this to see if it would reduce the static buildup. I does lower the static buildup and does a better job cleaning than the discwasher did. No fluids to buy or fuss with. Well worth the money.I have only been using it for a few days. I am very pleased with the product and the results. I was a little leery of buying this because of the reports of it shedding fibers on LPs. Now that I have used it I think I might know why some people have this problem. When you turn the brush around to store it the tendency is for the bristles to be pushed by the cleaning part of the handle. You have to move the brush slightly to get the two sets of brushes on either side of the cleaner so that they are not bent over... or don't turn the brush around unless you are cleaning it. This might not make sense without seeing the product. I think that storing it with the bristles bent to one side could cause them to come loose over time. The way I tested the amount of static was using styrofoam packing peanuts. If it is attracted to the LP you have a static charge. If you can pick up the packing peanut by holding the LP above it you have a LOT of static buildup. Probably enough to be able to hear it as pops and clicks.

I've used this brush for maybe 15 years... Before that, I used the original D3 Discwasher system, with Pfanstiehl record cleaner when my stock of the D3 fluid got used up. Mostly, I just ran that brush dry except when cleaning a new (to me) record or something with noticeable distortion. Once I got my antistat brush, my whole ritual changed. See, there's no real detriment to using one of these brushes... No liquid cleaner buildup, no static buildup.. when used properly. I recommend holding still, let the turntable do the work and if you have a metal post, drag the brush after a few rotations toward the center, touching the bristles to that post. I do two swipes. One out toward the edge, and the second inward toward the post. This will discharge any static that occurs. I've used my brush on multiple tables- I always find myself rooting around the house for it- and if i had one tt accessory to recommend, it would be a dry brush in this style. If you've read this far, just get it. You may find a bit of a learning curve when using it at first, but so much damage can be prevented from records in the first place by just removing the surface dust. If you can do that without using a fluid of some sort, imo, all the better! See, I'm not recommending this for my own health, I truly want to see more old records make it into the future and good record 'hygiene' starts with daily staple practices.. Some tips: avoid touching the actual bristles as much as you can. Any oils or dirt from your grubby fingers will just wind up on the platters.. Also, don't flex the bristles much when cleaning. Pressure is not helpful here.

Although I've collected records for years, I'm a new record "listener". I noticed quite a few ticks and cracks when I started playing, and eventhough I know they are not uncommon for records I decided to find something that could at least clean them a little bit.I decided to ask a friend of mine that is an avid record collector and he quickly sent me the link to this gadget, so I decided to buy it.First off, I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly, but at least I see that my records are less dusty and I have less noise when I play them.I cleaned a couple of records as good as I could, but some of them didn't get really clean, which I didn't expect since they were quite dirty, and I will need some other stuff to get those clean. Some people have mentioned that it sheds. I didn't see any of that on the first few records I cleaned, but I later cleaned a white record and I could see one "hair" on the record when I was done cleaning it.I believe this is a great item along with a more decent wet-cleaner. I will definitely check if it continues to shed.

This is a DRY cleaning method, not wet. This works great, I use it before I play every record because it only takes 7 seconds to do.Quality: 5/5-It rotates fine so the brushes are covered, and it won't un rotate itself-Non static. Meaning it doesn't interfere with the quality of your vinyl-It gets everything off in 2-3 rotation of the vinylUse: 5/5-I use it before every playing, and put it back in its original packaging-It gets things off I couldn't even see-I angle this so build up will go off the record then I brush it off. The whole time theres a constant, light pressure-Nothing sticks to the brush, which is very goodIts simply a brush for your vinyl and it doesn't mess anything up. Very simple design and worth it to me. I always put it back in the original plastic so other contaminants don't get on itIts the first one I bought, and I'm new to the vinyl scene so remember that when reading the review

Used it once and the bristles came off and got stuck in the record grooves, causing the stylus to jump. Now the bristles are stuck on the record and I can’t get them off.

This is a top-quality brush that removes the dust and helps prevent it building up again. I've recently started buying vinyl again after a 25 year gap and am loving the sound of records new and old. This is a must for anyone who cares about their records and wants to listen to them and preserve them in the best possible condition. The brush arrived well-packaged in record time (excuse the pun!). Very happy customer!
