Depending on where you are putting it, you will most likely need some other parts to hook it into your system, but that is normal. I love the automatic waterers as I'm able to quicky give these a wipe every day and keep the water clean rather than a big barrel that only gets emptied every couple of days. I do tend to still keep a bucket around, just in case, something happens you've got that little extra supply to hold you over until you fix the problem.Put them out of direct sun to keep the water cool and less algae formation. The small amount of water can heat up to very hot in direct sun. I've made that mistake in the past. They'll last a good long time if you take care of them. The float valve comes apart and can be cleaned and replaced as needed. The biggest problem I usually have with this kind of system is the bolts used to mount it tend to start rusting and leaving residue in the dish. I should probably look into some stainless bolts, something that won't rust out over time.

Smaller than expected but it literally stays filled up so perfect for the chickens either way

This would’ve been the perfect item but it wasn’t. I cut myself and my animals cut themselves. Every edge is very sharp from the stamping process and it’s not sanded to dull the edges.

Dogs chewed through the hose, but the rest of it is built great! Def recommend you screw it to wall prior to placing plastic floater in. Had to use our own screws because it doesn't come with any, but we had to drill into concrete wall so it worked out for us. Overall def a great product. Wish it was a better hose. It's a mesh cheap hose. Def buy one of your own or buy a basin and hose separately for cheaper.

I purchased 2 of these and both of the hoses continue to leak. I would not recommend this product

This is an excellent waterer. We're using it for our dogs as they like to be outside with us when we're working on stuff and I'd rather have them have better water than the poolAs far as chickens, they certainly will be able to drink out of this and they won't likely break it, but they will poop all in it, as the will be standing on this everywhere and dropping stuff into the water, which will not be super fun to clean out all the time.

what I like about the product:- deep enough for ducks, and also good to have because they go through a lot of water- very sturdy and overall well made- self filling (I hooked up to a rain barrel)- it could be hung up or sits ok flat, so I put it on a heater pad, to keep from freezing- would also be good for other farm animals, dog, etc..possible cons:- so far so good! will update if I have any issues

Jai acheter cette abreuvoir pour une niche pour chien. Elle va tres bien, jai utilisé un flexible de lavabo avec un coude de lave vaisselle pour passer de labreuvoir à la hose de jardin. Le seul truck que je trouve desagreable est que larierre nest pas parfaitement plat donc jai du niveler labreuvoir avec un "shim" pour son bon fonctionnement.
