This does what says and it does quite well. Very simple in design, it's basically your toilet tank but for dogs. Easy to mount on the wall and install. You will need some sort of garden hose to connect it to, and preferably a two way adapter in case you only have one faucet available and need another garden hose to water your plants.I have two Huskies, and with a normal water bowl, they can empty it in seconds or make it very dirty when they are trying to dig in it. With the water bowl now mounted on the wall, the water stays a lot more clean because they aren't sticking their paws in it. Also the height I have it installed at makes it easier for the dogs to drink from. The automatic watering is definitely helpful as I do not need to worry if the dogs have any drinking water when I am away at work. The drain is certainly helpful to clean out the bowl, although I would rather have a valve at the bottom of the bowl to drain from instead. In the mornings, sometimes the water is too cold to stick the hand straight in to change the water. I did not have any issues with any leaking. As the connections are very simple, I would imagine any leak to be easily solved. Either tightening the connections, or putting some teflon tape or silicone caulk to prevent any leaks. I'm sure people can find someone who is handy enough to fix any leaking problems, cracking is a different story and that may warrant a return.I would have liked to been able to choose which side the garden hose connects to. As it is, it comes connected on the right side. Depending on where I install the bowl, it might be better if the garden hose connection could be on the left side because of where the faucet is located. That way I don't have to use an extra long hose and wrap it around, luckily where I installed the connection location was fine.

I'm very happy with this purchase. I should have bought this 3 years ago. I mounted on the side of the house into the brick. I had to purchase masonry lag bolts and a drill bit - $6. I also bought a y-connector and a 4 ft. supply hose - $10. The installation was not difficult. I just took my time and was careful not to over-tighten plastic nuts and fittings. I have no leaks and the product works. My 3 dogs took right to it.As someone else mentioned you have to spin the supply hose to thread it in. This is a little awkward but doable, and you will only need to do it once so I did not see this as a flaw. You do this last after you have mounted the tub and tightened in the float assembly and the outer nut. Lastly connect to the faucet and turn on. The float is adjustable so that you can maintain the water level you prefer. I adjusted so it fills about 2/3.I first installed the float upside down so it did not fill. It was an obvious error. I loosened the outer nut and rotated the float to the correct position. Look at the picture and directions and you won't have that issue.I looked at some other products at 3 and 4 times the price. I went with this one and it's doing great. I would highly recommend this product.

Tip: The plug doesn’t seal, so it drips when holding water. I initially added teflon tape, which helped, but it doesn’t survive multiple removals. I figured out a rubber water hose washer fits in the bottom of the plug and works perfectly to stop the dripping. Those washers are dirt cheap, and they should just include one in the box instead of the ineffective o-ring. Once I made that switch it was less frustrating to drain tree debris out of it, so we clean it more often to keep it nice. It’s made of flexible plastic with no reinforcement, and it isn’t designed with a simple bracing point down lower to hold it level against the wall. As a result, when it’s full of water it droops down in the front, doesn’t sit level. We have some smaller dogs, so ours is mounted low on the wall, and to keep it simple we have a rock underneath holding it up level. It could really use both a reinforced back where the mounting screws go and a small bit added to the plastic to reach back and hold against the wall so it stays level and doesn’t deform.Otherwise, generally speaking, it does what it’s supposed to do and hasn’t given us any problems. We have moderately hard water at about 18 grains per gallon, and over 4 months it has shown signs of minor scale accumulation at the water line, but that’s about right and doesn’t hurt it’s function.Another thing that’s nice is using standardized and replaceable fittings. It meant that when I wanted to adapt it to an existing garden hose thread hose that ended in a compression fitting like an ice maker, a trip to the hardware store was all I needed to make it work.We have an elderly chihuahua, and I was concerned it would be too tall for him to use, but because it’s mounted low on the wall, it’s worked out well.

This waterer works like a champ - if you’re having issues with water never turning off, it’s not sitting level! If you’ve got a water dog, attach it to something they can’t knock over. Seems like common sense info, but read some of the questions 🤣I have not had any issues with the plug - other than me cross threading it and I fixed that by uncrossing it.I did buy different screws to attach it to the pallet I have it sitting on.If you need a replacement float because you have a chewer that found a way to it, you’ll never get a hold of the seller to get one. Sifting through the questions, I found a guy that said to try GunDogSupply.com - they had them and at a reasonable price! They are good people to work with and small business owners! It doesn’t come with a hose & I purchased a short rv water hose to supply mine & that set up works great for us. Obviously the pallet doesn’t come with it either… picked mine up on the side of the road 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸

We finally were able to get our automatic waterers installed over the weekend. All I can say is that they are amazing. My barn has a unique variety of livestock - my racehorse wouldn't use one until this one.... He doesn't need to push anything with his nose, just drink - best ever.Would recommend to anyone :)

Easy to install and easy to clean. This means our dog had access to water whenever she needs it!

Works perfect for the 4 pets, I had to pick up a few parts to complete the install, but it all went very well. I would like to get another for outside this spring.
