Works great. The float valve is extremely straightforward which is encouraging. It's plastic, which seems a little flimsy, but quick to replace. It'd be nice if the connection were tapered - it's a bit hard to get a leak free fit. Super straightforward and reliable though. I've had a bit of trouble with the entire float valve turning, but tightening down the plastic nut seems to address that. One of the bolts that fastens the top "flap" to the bottom was missing, but simple enough to pick that up when I was picking up the bolts to mount it

This works perfectly for our chocolate lab and lovable mutt. We've tried different brands (plastic & galvanized steel) and this is the only one that has maintained good integrity. Be careful not to get the suggested adapter as you will end up with leaks. Find an adapter to go from the waterer to your hose that is PLASTIC and with a little silicone tape you'll have a tight seal with no leaks. Easy to clean and works perfectly.

OK. I bought this bowl, and it is a quality Stainless bowl ! Works Great right from the beginning. Here are some things you should know before buying.1- There is no mounting hardware or garden hose connector included with this bowl. ( In fairness the seller does not claim that there is hardware or Connector)2.- This is a better quality stainless waterer than some that look exactly the same. ( That's why I chose this one.)----Some kennel installation tips-----* You will need to buy a hose adaptor connector, Toilet tank mounting bolts, and possibly some concrete blocks.* The hose connector. You will need teflon tape or it will leak. If you try to put on a bunch of teflon tape all at once it will want to cross thread ( even if you are careful) I finally just gave it like 1 wrap then would screw on the connector and remove it. this would compress the teflon tape into the threads. I would do the same thing again over the existing teflon tape four to five different times. This worked perfect and it is leak free. (sounds difficult but only takes less than 5 minutes)* I put this on concrete paver blocks which support the weight.* I used toilet tank mounting bolts to seal the two mounting holes , and also mount to the outside of the dog kennel. This just anchors it in place, ( the holes are 3.5" on center so that's the distance you should drill your holes on the board,)* Lastly I used large zip ties to help secure the bowl . One around the top just under the rolled brim, and one around the top and under the first block, ( a little overkill, but it's not gonna fall off the blocks.)* Finally I am very happy with the waterer so far. The dog likes it,and it is really easy to clean. The only reason I would give four stars instead of five is that it doesn't come with the the hose connector or mounting hardware. --------Overall very happy---------

Edit 4/13/2018 I added an automatic waterer to the mix and drilled a hole on the bottom of the bowl. I have the waterer empty the bowl at 8am and 8pm to remove any bad water, aka dirty etc. It has really cut down on my need to manually clean the bowl with 11 huskies.Original : So far I like this waterer, my install went well. I moved the float to the other side of the bowl. That was easily done. This unit replaced an older steel waterer. I do agree with some of the other reviewers, in that the adjustment of the float is slightly awkward and almost not possible when moving the float to the other side of the bowl. That however only took a few minutes to adjust and it doesn't affect my liking this unit. It is stainless so it should last a long time.We mounted this unit indoors by running a flexible water line to a cold water pipe and installed a cutoff on the pipe. Its a rather large size hose (think garden hose) for what we need but it works very well. I know what your thinking mounting it inside.. Yep we did, and have had great results, and knock on wood never a spilled drop of water. The only time I spill water, is when I clean the bowl.We have 11 Siberian huskies who drink a lot of water. Especially in the south. This fits the bill perfectly for them. Mounting it inside helps prevent the freezing of the water during the winter. It also helps keep the water cooler during the summers. They actually drink easier and make less of a mess with it inside. We made the decision to mount this model inside due to one of our departed pets "Sapphire". When the water got stale or dirty she would walk over and put her paw in and out of the water until she splashed out enough water to make it run and introduce fresh cooler water. You can't argue dogs are smart animals. If she could figure out how to run the water bowl surely we needed to do something different as our current setup wasn't working. After placing the unit inside she never splashed water out of it again.I will buy it again.

Worked WONDERFUL to water our 4-H show lambs. We have 2 units because the lambs ended up being fed and kept separately. They both worked very well under a gravity fed water system (non pressurized because it was coming from a holding tank in the barn). Once the floats were set We never had to adjust them again.Plumbing note to new buyers --- one came with a female garden hose end already on it, the second one I ordered later came with 1/2" plastic male thread and I had to adapt to garden hose. Pay attention to which one you click on to order.Would buy again if I ever need another one..!!!
