The AV Access iDock-C10 has been a practical solution for managing my dual-system setup. I regularly switch between an M1 MacBook for work and a Windows gaming workstation, and finding a KVM switch that supports both consistently has been challenging. After trying several other options with limited success, I had resorted to using two keyboards and mice alongside switching inputs on my main display. The real challenge always seems to be passing the EDID for the Mac through a peripheral, and this dock just hasn't had that issue, and consistently passes accurate display information to the Mac.The iDock-C10 has made a noticeable difference and freed up a lot of space on my desk. The setup was straightforward, and it works reliably with both machines. The USB-C connectivity is particularly convenient for the MacBook, allowing for video, power, and data transfer through a single cable. Even though the Apple silicon machines reintroduced an dedicated HDMI out, it's nice to just have one cable to dock it. Switching between devices is quick, and I haven’t experienced any connectivity issues or delays beyond the an expected brief moment for the keyboard and mouse to re-engage when being accessed by the alternative machine. I do appreciate the fun trick of being able to mount an external drive to one, eject it, and then have it show up on the other. A little thing that I wasn't even looking for.I will mention that I use a single display externally, and I believe this might not support two separate displays (from my mac at least) from the documentation. So keep this in mind. My set-up actually calls for a duplicated display because I send it to a projector to do video/media work in my home studio. So, the way this outputs from the mac is a feature for me, not a limitation!I really appreciate the compact design, which keeps my workspace organized, and the device handles peripherals like my keyboard and mouse without issue. I really prefer a full mechanical keyboard, and this has allowed me to keep only one out... with a little special key remapping on my Mac, I use the one I got with my tower. While no device is perfect for everyone, the iDock-C10 has been a solid addition to my setup and has streamlined my workflow significantly. It’s definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a reliable KVM switch for a mixed Mac and Windows environment. For me it's been a five-star experience, and a real relief to have found something that does what I need without a lot of consternation. Would get again.

I’ve been using the AV Access iDock-C10-US Dual Monitor KVM Switch Docking Station in my home office, and it’s been working great. It allows me to switch between an HP desktop, a Dell laptop, and two 34" monitors without any problems. Setting it up was straightforward, and everything worked right away. The device itself feels solid and well-built. Switching between my devices is quick, with no lag or flicker. The 4K resolution at 60Hz looks excellent, and it also handles higher refresh rates nicely. One of my favorite features is the EDID emulation and automatic PC wake-up, which keeps my desktop icons right where they should be and prevents any flickering when I switch inputs.I also really appreciate the variety of ports—there’s USB-C for data transfer and charging, multiple USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet, and even an SD card slot. It makes juggling multiple devices a lot simpler.Overall, it’s been reliable and does exactly what I need it to do. If you’re looking to streamline a dual-monitor setup at home or in the office, I’d recommend giving this KVM switch a try. I’ve been very happy with it.

I have two laptops (HP and Lenovo) and one desktop (Linux). I use a Viewsonic 32" monitor as external monitor. I don't have space for extra monitors. So I purchased this KVM switch, which I have been using for three and half months. It does not support hot switch for me. This means, when both a laptop and a desktop are plugged in and turned on, if I press the switch button, this monitor will "switch" but is often flickering, sometimes just blank. Occasionally, it works as expected.Switching from a laptop to desktop works, almost always. But most times hot switch from desktop to laptop does not work, with various possible behaviors: flickering screen is most often. sometimes the screen size is not correct (smaller with black filled the rest region of the monitor), sometimes just a white noise screen, sometimes a frozen picture. And sometimes the ethernet does not work after the switch. The worst inconvenience is some weird problem occasionally (average once a day), even though when I did not switch. I was using only my HP laptop with double screens (one external monitor connected through the switch, and the laptop's native screen). The external monitor suddenly went blank with all GUI moved to the laptop native monitor, with an alarming sound. Then after three seconds, everything went back to the way it should be. Initially I thought it was due to some other reasons. Now I am confirmed that this switch is the culprit since I only see this when I use this switch -- I have three docking stations and never experienced such a problem when connect external monitor using a docking station. However, if you don't do hot switch, it work fine (except as described above -- the sudden blank screen for a few seconds before things resume to normal) This mean, if I want to "switch" from desk top to laptop, I need to power off the desktop first. Press the switch button. Then power on the laptop. It is not convenient. But it solves my issue on limited space.I don't see its competitors. So the price is high (comparing with many cheap docking stations, yet with fairly good quality, available at Amazon). But I did not have another option if I want to have laptop (USB type C connector) and a desktop (HDMI or DP). Hope some switch manufacturers see my review and enter into this market :)--------------------------- Added comments after the above initial review -----------I purchased the switch in April 2024. I wrote the initial review after several months of use. I got a message from the manufacturer who would like to understand more. I provided the debug info on my two laptops and one PC. Later I got a newer version of the switch with comments from the manufacturer that the newer version might fix my problems. Now I have used the new version for a couple of months and would like to provide some updates. I initially gave 3 stars. Now I would upgrade to 4 stars. Many weird issues are indeed gone. However, "hot" switch can be still a problem. I have used the switch for 2 PCs (one Windows 10 and one Linux) and 2 laptops (both Windows 11). I saw "grey" screens occasionally. I also saw unresponsive screens (both PC side and laptop side). It happens maybe 20% percent of time. Furthermore, the newer version of the switch is less "damaging". I had to power off both PC and laptop sometimes using the old switch since neither was responsive. But for the newer version, I experienced much less (still I had to power off to solve the "freeze" issue very occasionally). Here are some lessons I learned:1. Keep the laptop open. This may make the chance of failed switch less frequent. Earlier I usually closed the laptop since my laptop screen is small and I would just use the external monitor. But now I realized this might make the switch not functioning well.2. On the laptop, configure the display to see the laptop monitor as the "primary screen". This seems to improve the chance of switch functioning.Since the problems happen at random, I cannot say the above conclusion are the result of "scientific" tests. They are just my impression after months of use.In summary, if you use the switch as a "cold" switch, this product works perfect. But for "hot" switch, it is not that stable, but usable. I once talked with someone who knows this area and learned that with so many kinds of PCs and laptops, making a switch work is a hard business. I think I should give at least 4 stars to be fair.

Since covid, I must have tried every permutation to get a convenient home working setup that easily switches between a work PC and home mac. Every solution to date has had compromises that niggle on a daily basis. Finally I have a working setup with 3 * 24" IPS screens, webcam, wireless headset, wireless keyboard and wireless mouse that switch between a mac mini and work laptop with a single button. All inputs and outputs are to the back of the switch box and I've got multiple devices connecting in via an unpowered USB hub so this keeps the desk environment uncluttered and cable free.To make the user experience even better, switching is possible via keyboard shortcuts. I could move the switch box out of sight but it's handy to have USB sockets on the desk for occasional keyboard/phone charging. The only thing that would make this better is if all video connections were HDMI. If you don't have displayport connectors on your source device (or in the case of the mac mini, the third output device needs to be USB), most converter cables are directional and in the wrong way.Whether you're looking to get a mac or work laptop connected to 3 displays, a USBC hub with 3 displayport connectors appears to be a good solution. Have found HDMI to displayport cables (both powered and unpowered) to be unreliable.

I was given a laptop from my work, and I am working mostly from home. I have a very specific setup (monitor/keyb/mouse/chair/desk/sound) which I wanted to keep using with my work laptop, so I decided to buy the iDock. Most important factor was the ability to display 3440x1440@165Hz via the DP port, and it was the best choice at that range.Good quality, as it is described, no problems in general, works fine. However it misses few features that would be nice to see in future models.-No power switch. Apart from the power consumption, which is low, but still, why being on 24/7? Also, both my keyb/mouse are LED illuminated, therefore they are on 24/7. Fortunately they are in my office, but if someone have their PC/Laptop in their bedroom, that could be a problem.-LAN is always connected, even without a cable attached. This wouldn't be an issue in most cases, however my laptop is heavily locked by my employer, and when I connect it to the iDock, reverts the connection there instead of WiFi, and I cannot switch back (company policy). I had to ask my support to disable the USB-to-LAN adapter in Windows to properly work, as there is no way to disabled on the iDock-When I have both computers connected and on, while one has two monitors connected but the laptop just the main, and I switch it, all windows from my main screen, on my personal PC, move to the secondary monitor. This means that the signal sent to a connected PC when you switch to another, is that this monitor is disconnected, which again, is not a good practice. It shouldn't change anything, just "hide" the signal.Overall it is a very good solution, even though it is missing the above features. I am not sure if any other has them in this price range.

I needed a KVM switch to drive x3 monitors from both a work laptop and a Mac Studio. The product info says that the D23 only works with desktops and DP connections, so I was a little reticent to purchase, but took the chance. On arrival it didn't work - only two monitors and many peripherals not connecting. I emailed the AV Access team who came back to me within 24 hours with solutions. (For those with similar setups: 1/ connecting the D23's USB-B inputs to the computers (cable supplied) in addition to the DP inputs solved the peripherals issue, and 2/ to resolve the issue with the monitor connected through HDMI, I replaced my passive DP>HMDI cable, with a £25 Startech active DP>HDMI adaptor). Now everything works - and it's amazing! Being able to switch at a click of a button all three monitors (+audio adaptor/mic +webcam +Stream deck +prompter) is game-changing. The device itself has a high build quality, and looks nice on my desk. I may still invest in the clicker button. The service from AV Access was quick and friendly (thanks Johnny and James). I got the feeling that they genuinely cared to solve my issue, and was left in no doubt that if not resolved there would be no problem returning the item.

A lot of product here and if you're running 2 or 3 monitor setups on multiple machines you can save a huge amount of space and money. We had a two machines with two monitor (4 in total, all Samsung UL28R55 4k). We've combined them into a single 3 monitor setup and the KVM switches between them wonderfully. On the front you have a shared hub of USB, audio, sd reader, and the switch button. all these are switched with the machines. If you have a USB harddisk etc plugged in it'll move over to the 2nd PC for example. So you might want to invest in a second set of USB hubs if you want dedicated ports for each machine. We have a label printer and document scanner that needs to be kept plugged into the machine full time as it's used by others on the network. Also, talking of network. It has ethernet ports so if you only have one ethernet cable coming in, you can have that swap out automatically. We're on 10g fiber so we just didn't use this but it's worth keeping in mind if you're doing streaming or accessing remote systems while on the different monitor. There are a lot of cables coming into this if you fully stack it with everything. While there is support for a remote button to switch machines, there isn't any mounting holes on the unit. So mounting to the back of monitor/arm, a desk or wall isn't an option and you're basically left with a huge amount of cables lumped together on the desk or tucked away. It's not a neat solution in that regard, and I get it they want you to use the front facing ports but I've hidden it away and am just using my own USB hubs.Overall though, a solid solution that ideally you need to plan ahead for. Our desk setup went from 2 to a 3 monitor setup with an additional tower sat next to it, plus the additional like the printer and scanner that got moved over. We fast ran out of power sockets on that side of the room.
