Purchased these a few months back and my family at home has no issues at all when I play these guys. It's unbelievable how much less volume these make, and the rebound is authentic for ideal practice on your stick control. Not only that, but they sound pretty good too despite being entirely low volume. The 16 and 18 inch crashes both are unique with distinctly different pitches upon striking. The 14 hi -hats have a great sizzle to them when playing open, and they can make a great tick sound when striking closed with the tip of the stick.Couldn't recommend more for the lowest volume possible compared to other low volume cymbals out there, and also for the perfect replication of rebound and feel so that you can switch to full volume, and not notice a difference in your style.

I would love to 5 star everything about this purchase, but I feel like the MSRP that Zildjian suggests is a little too high. Overall though the cymbals are great, the right feel and minimal sound. I have played these in the middle of the night and very little sound went out of the room. Love them and play on them every week...

I've been playing drum kits & using really good cymbals for 40 years. And I like these L80s... a lot. Read on.I moved and now have to practice in my basement. Adding tons of soundproofing is out of the question. These cymbals were perfect for my needs. They are "real" cymbals that really sound like cymbals so you aren't wailing away on a rubber practice pad stuck over your favorite ride. The perforations are curious and take a bit of getting used to, but that's not bad, and you need them to get rid of mass. Less mass = less volume. If you are considering this cymbal pack, do yourself a favor and get the 20" ride, too. The 18" is a bit hokey as a ride, but great as a crash. The 20", however, feels and sounds like a real ride. The bells on these cymbals won't sound like those on good B20 bronze models, but if you accept them for what they are, they still isn't bad. I also bought the 10" splash. It is a bit thick & isn't as bright sounding as a "real" hand-hammered 10" splash, but it still isn't a bad cymbal at all.So....would I play these in public in a small venue where I really need to keep the volume down? Absolutely.I'm mostly a Sabian guy and bought these for practice. I really was impressed by the quality and sound. And... I just noticed Sabian and Dream have released "copy cat" products. What does that tell you? If you need to keep your volume down but want the experience of playing real bronze, I'd highly recommend the L80 product line.

These are so better than cymbal pads. I could use the ride cymbal when playing with others. The splash (purchased separately) and crash probably are practice only. But they feel real, which is what matters. I have my drum heads muffled with cloth, and the bass with a pillow. Volue is reasonable, and the feel is real.

My normal cymbals are among the quietest, Bosphorus Turks, but these Z80 practice cymbals from Zildjian are whisper quiet. So much better than rubber mutes on cymbals. The stick articulation is perfect for practicing accuracy. Just get a set!

these things are pretty cool. even though theyre much quieter than regular accoustic cymbals, theyre still a little loud if you really want to practice as quietly as possible. i matched them with my remo silent stroke heads and i feel like the cymbals are still very loud in comparison to the drums. for the price though, its hard to complain. its just to just have them around and throw them on whenver you want.

I run a kids band program and drum volume has always been a concern. I tried an electronic kit but it just wasn't right. The pads were too small and the hihat was awful. These cymbals along with some mesh heads on an old kit are the perfect practice kit. The hihats sound good and respond just like full ones. The ride cymbal sounds great and has a nice bell sound as well. The crash doesn't bloom much but is ok. Some have added a bit of chain to make the decay longer. Overall a big hit with the kids. You can actually talk over the drums while being played. Amazingly quiet.

I piatti servono perfettamente allo scopo. Ovviamente non restituiscono il suono di piatti reali, ma sono perfetti per essere usati in quelle situazioni nelle quali l'alternativa sarebbe... non esercitarsi. Decisamente meglio di qualunque alternativa "gommosa".
