These cymbals are helping me get back on my throne (drum throne that is). I wanted to restart my drumming after 40 years - I set up my (now) vintage drum set, signed up for on-line lessons and started practicing. It wasn't long before I was de-throned (pun intended) by my spouse for making too much noise.These L80's fill the bill. I tried various drum and cymbal mutes but wasn't thrilled with the result. Price was low-ish, but a poor experience. Next thought was an electric kit - but the $500 kit turned out to be almost double after seeing I needed headphones, a drum app, etc. The L80's that seemed expensive before now looked like a bargainAfter a trip to the drum store and seeing the result of combining L80's and mesh heads on the drums, I went that route. The cymbals have good sound, the feel of "real cymbals", and low volume. They wouldn't replace the real thing for gigs, but do a great job of allowing me to keep the volume low and still feel like I'm playing a real drum set.One thing to remember - don't compare them to standard cymbals, but to the other alternate drum and cymbal mutes that make it sound like you're using rubber garbage cans for drums and their lids for cymbals.

I bought these because they looked cool. They have held up well so far.Warning... They do have a "dark" sound. They have a lower pitch and overall volume. They worked well for drumming in smaller spaces so the overall volume isn't as loud. If you're looking for brighter, higher pitched cymbals don't pick this set.However, these work well for my home set-up for practice.

Bought this set for my son. Great quality and the sound is so much more clearer than what he had. Definitely recommend for a beginner drummer.

Game changer. Along with Remo Silent Stroke heads on our kit, the L80s make it possible to jam at conversation level. They sound beautiful. If you want to play your kit at 11pm without disturbing the neighbors - heck, without them even having any remote awareness that you are doing so - do yourself a big favor that you will never regret, and buy a set of L80s, along with a set of Silent Strokes. My band rehearses without a PA now. No need to rent a rehearsal space. Utterly tolerable volume levels. I tell anyone who will listen: the greatest thing to happen in music since The Beatles. Seriously. Conversation level. This has changed everything.

I picked this set up for using in some small rooms. It sounds amazing. The crash is mediocre but the ride and the high hats are so nice.
