The Aventik lines work great and are a great value compared to paying $100 for a brand line from one of the major manufactures. They cast great and so far have held up just as well as my other lines. They seem true to size/weight and have nice color combinations.

I bought the double taper floating line in 4, 5, and 6 weight. The value is very good, as most fly lines cost 2-4 times the cost. But, as another reviewer noted, they don’t shoot very well. Sadly, they don’t seem to float super well (then again, I’ve had this issue with literally all “floating†fly lines I’ve tried in the past 25 years). Also in fairness I am nymphing 90% of the time (usually without an indicator) which will sink the line. When using the 5-wt line this weekend, after snagging my fly on a deep rock, I intentionally tried to break the tippet to resume fishing, but the welded loop broke clean off. Unexpected bummer. So, either my 8-lb tippet was stronger than 8 pounds, and/or the welded loop strength was less than 8 pounds. The line is still usable with a nail knot, but this failure is worthy of taking a star or two off. It seems if you want a nice line you’d like to hold onto for a few seasons, prepare to fork over $50+. Meanwhile, I will continue to fish these for now, they are still a good value even with the breakage and apparent floating issues.

Supple and slick out of the box. Cast fine for 3 wt. Used a few times. Floats ok. Don't know long term duribility but at this price I don't care. I can buy 5 of these for the price of one name brand fly line. Been fly fishing 40 plus years.

Spooled all the new line onto my reel and then see the end tag, 'this end to reel'. But this is a double taper, so both ends are the same and it should be reversable, right? I guess there is a new meaning to DT. This line has no slickness to it, lousy to cast. Not impressed.
