The AWT Flux Core Welding Wire is on par with the box store wire and even competes with the name brand wires that I've used. The thing is my welding experience is limited and I'm still honing my welding skills. My WeldPro MIG machine feeds this wire smoothly and can't tell the difference. My welds come out good and strong for the most part. The AWT wire certainly exceeds my welding skill level, and allows me to focus on my welding technique.

I recently bought the .035", 2-pound flux core welding wire and found it to be a great value for a quality product. While flux core might not be as clean as using plain wire with gas, this wire works well and looks good with only a little cleanup required. The wire feeds smoothly through my inexpensive 110VAC welder, which is impressive. It’s a versatile wire suitable for mild steel and most around-the-house projects.I used it on some 1/4" plate, and it penetrated well, providing excellent weld quality for a flux core wire. The flux spatter cleaned off easily, making the post-welding process hassle-free.Overall, this welding wire offers good value, especially for a generic brand, and I would recommend it for various welding projects.

The welding wire works as it should, as good as my previous flux core wires. It provides good penetration and an even weld with little splatter, not excessive, some splatter is normal for flux core wires. I am not a professional welder but have welded small projects in the past and had no issues with this wire. It fed through the welder smoothly without any issues. Overall a good flux core MiG welding wire at a good value..

NOT MIG – actually FCAW – Higher Quality like you buy at the Welding StoreI can comment with some experience and knowledge. I took welding classes in High School and in College in the 70s. I am NOT a professional welder but I do a lot of metal fabrication. I have gas and electric welding systems. I have a couple of Oxygen Acetylene welding setups, an AC-DC 220 VAC stick welder, and a very old combination convertible MIG or Flux Cored Wire welder. To convert my wire welder to use Flux Cored wire, I have to change the polarity and install knurled wire driving wheels. This rated E71T-GS, at 0.035â€, is my go wire for the thicker metal gas-less flux cored wire welding. Using it to get good welds requires very good surface preparation compared to say using a 6011 stick and welding right through greasy paint on rusted metal. FCAW welding can produce superior weld beads and joints, that look like an artist caulked the joints, but only on perfectly cleaned and prepared metal. You can buy cheaper cost wire but you get cheaper quality wire and inconsistent welds that you have to spend more time correcting and redoing. Life is too short to waste it fixing and re-fixing your poor quality welds caused by using poorer quality wire.Unfortunately, my garage workshop is unheated until deep winter when I spend a lot of time running the wood stove. So, my work space has what is know as “a condensing atmosphereâ€. Inside my workshop water vapor condenses as dew on my equipment; just like it you see on your car parked outside. The dew inside my workshop is not as heavy as the dew outside, but it is still a problem. This brand of Flux Core Wire DOES NOT come as securely sealed away from the elements sealed in a metalized plastic VACUUM BAG. So, I have to keep it stored in my warm dry air house.

TRIED SEVERAL OTHER FLUX CORE WELDING WIRE, THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE USED. VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS, I BELIEVE THAT I WILL BE STICKING TO THIS ONE.
