This is a great little kit for making a mobile! The supplies worked well for me and kept me from having to source things separately. As others have said, though, the 'instructions' are lacking. i have a good bit of crafting experience and it still took me a while to figure out how to use it. Turned out great once I got it done, so I do recommend the product, just be prepared to figure it out for yourself.

What is worth the purchase: The hoop, beads, threading tool (the latter is the best part of the whole thing).What you will need to replace:-- The string. It's just embroidery floss. It separates and looks awful. I got some "waxed string" at Hobby Lobby in the leatherwork section, which worked beautifully.-- The wooden ring to hang it with. It is pretty much the same size as a Cheerio. You cannot put several strands of string through it and still have room to hang it on anything even as tiny as a cuphook. On it's own, without compromise of string, you cannot get it on a mobile hanger and/or music box. I ended up having to macrame a loop to hang it with.One other caution: This was shipped in a zip-top bag. Not a padded bag. No box. Just the bag it's kitted in. Absolute miracle that this didn't rip and lose pieces or cause the hoop to break.

Like other reviews, I agree that it is a pain to make. It took a lot of time to set up, but the end result is definitely worth it!

I haven’t been this frustrated with a craft project in a long time. This product can’t be worth more than five dollars. The instructions are a joke, and I have spent all night wishing I had just bought a wooden embroidery ring and used some yarn/string I already own.Just after spending an hour trying to balance the wooden ring to be level on all four pieces of string, I finally added my crochet pieces. I placed it on the mobile arm I’m using, and I took it on and off maybe three times while working on the project. When I took it off to finalize the placing of all the crochet pieces, the ring holding all the string together BROKE. Just from me taking it off the hook a few times. This mobile could not withstand an older baby hitting/pulling at it like my first baby did with his mobile.I had to put the project down for the night until I decide what I want to use instead, but I could not be less impressed with this product. If I’d started with a YouTube tutorial and bought all of their recommended supplies, this would not have caused me as much grief as it has tonight. Do not buy this. This experience one has left me never wanting to make another hand-made mobile ever again.

The kit is nice and had everything I needed, however the wood frame is warped already… it now looks a bit crooked but still serves its purpose. Maybe it needs better wood structure to avoid this from happening.
