Wish it would make a cleaner slice, seems to tear the bagel slightly. otherwise I can deal with it.

Too lightweight to be steady so you need to really hold it down at the base. And it squishes the bagel better than it cuts it.

I’ve been on a baking kick and have been making bagels pretty frequently. Slicing by hand is tedious when you’re trying to slice dozens of bagels before freezing, and I can never get it halfway so one side is always thicker than the other. This bagel slicer works great! Slices each bagel right down the middle and is easy to use. Clean up is easy, I just hand wash it.

I originally had this set at five stars after using it for a large loaf of bread that sat flat. It was also small enough to fit inside the compartment. However, after trying it with many others, it works but is very inconvenient due to one big issue.When I try to balance something like a bagel which is thinner and round, it does not stay in the middle like I want it to. I had to try to keep the bread in the middle with one hand while trying to use the guillotine-style cutter with the other. This is more dangerous and I’d probably look for something much safer and much easier to use. I might use this on and off but not frequently. This was not designed to be used with most types of bread.I went from full marks to one star due to the big safety issue. I tried everything to make it work but I would be concerned to use it frequently.
