The bagel slicer is fast and clean to use. It is used with little force, just push the tapered blade onto the bagel. Procedure:

Recommendations

After watching my son cut bagels with a knife I found this wonderful product. Drop the bagel in the slot and the blade cuts it perfectly in half. No chance of injuring yourself. Every bagel lover should have one.

This bagel slicer works fine and cuts the bagel evenly. The blade could be sharper as it usually smooshes the bagel a bit. And with the serration at a sharp angle, it doesn't completely slice the bagel. It cuts most of it but leaves a little uncut at the end. It can be easily torn, so it is minor.

Tried to slice a bagel- too dull. Right iut of the box. Don't buy one of these. Very disappointed.

I can't attest to whether this would cut anything since it doesn't fit fresh bagels. Perhaps it could handle store bought bagels, but not bagel shop bagels.

I couldn't be happier with this simple kitchen tool. Used properly it's safe and effective. The blade is very sharp. It's easy to use. Slide a bagel into the device and just push down with the blade. It makes a perfect cut every time.

hard to cut bagels with this, not very sturdy. still leaves crumbs on the counter, which is the reason I bought it! blade does not seem very sharp.
