Received one of these weather sticks as a gift a number of years ago. Love the accuracy of foretelling hot, warm, cool, cold weather of just a simple stick. Fun and a good conversation piece on the exterior wall by our patio. When the original finally broke, I just had to replace it. The price from this provider is more than reasonable, the stick was packaged securely, and arrived within a week - a surprise given limited shipping of non-essential items during the pandemic.

Yep, go ahead and buy it. It’s really cool to watch. I live in South Louisiana where the weather is. Undecided will say, but you find this stick it’ll tell you up or down.

In reality, the stick does not rise and fall with the barometer. The barometer can rise even on cloudy rainy days, but you would notice this stick facing downward no matter what. The longer it rains, the lower the stick points down. And why is that? Because the humidity is climbing higher and higher. It has nothing to do with the barometric pressure. Case in point, at the moment there is over 90 percent humidity,Sun is out,sky is blue but the stick is still pointing downward towards the ground. No rain in the last 24 hours. The Sun has been melting the frost off the ground, which inturn is putting water vapor rising into the air thus raising the humidity sky high. It does not predict the weather that's coming but reacts to it's surrounding environment at the present time. When clouds come in to your area,the stick can start to eventually point downward, but not necessarily because rain is actually coming. It's because clouds mean more moisture, higher water vapor content in the atmosphere surrounding where you live. It's all about the current humidity, not what's 20 or 60 miles away from you heading your way. If a storm is firing up 30 miles from you heading your way, the stick will not drop quickly enough to let you know it's coming. Storm coming or not, it will not drop at all unless the humidity rises. You cannot see the stick move unless you have time lapse equipment. The stick does not have eyes and cannot feel weather that hasn't gotten to your location yet, so it does not forecast weather. For those who bought this, remember when you opened the package and the stick was pointing upwards? Know why? Dry conditions and low humidity in the package. The higher the humidity, the lower the stick points to the ground. Low humidity,upward it goes. It is fun to keep an eye on and I do recommend someone purchasing it. I find it laughable when people disregard weather reports and think the stick is forecasting what's coming. Nice sunny beautiful day but the stick is pointing downward,then they think the stick is defective or bad weather is coming. Just want people to truly understand the conditions that cause this stick to move up or down and it is not a weather forecaster as some erroneously think.

I gave this weather stick to my daughter but I have had one for about 8 years. It has been on my shed in all the elements of high winds, snow and sleet. It has been accurate and dependable! A great gift for someone that has everything and you don’t know what to get them . Great conversation piece!

The stick does work, maybe not so much as a prediction but it does sometimes go straight even here in the Arizona desert.
