The Barebones Square Hoe, and the Barebones Japanese Weeding Hoe, are both so pretty that you almost don’t want to use them! I got both of them to compare and ended up keeping them both. I can’t decide which I like better! The square hoe can move more earth than the other, and most of the time, I find the square edge shape the most useful. The sickle style weeding hoe can be well controlled in tight spaces that are very near the bases of the plants you are weeding around. I have found it to be particularly useful around the base of tall bearded iris rhizomes. I can’t imagine any gardener being disappointed with either hoe! And if you are decorating with a gardening theme, you could hang these on the wall and they’ll look great!

Great tool. Keep it sharp, and you've got a fantastic tool for quick removal of clumps of weeds in mulch. If you have an issue with vines, I'm not so sure this is the best choice, but I would certainly try it.

I bought this spade and a few other hand tools from Barebones as a gift for my husband when we were getting married. He loves to garden and this spade is the one he goes to time and again. It has weathered better than I expected and the handle only seems to get smoother and nice with age. We store it in a dry shed over the winter and keep it clean when its not in active use. I liked this so much I have bought this tool a few times as gifts for gardener friends. Nice.

I like the sharp point, gets in tight spots and can pry up weeds from the roots. Can use around tomato cages, vine supports, nice small tool. Didn’t like that it took 3 weeks to arrive, but well worth the wait. Andy
