Lifelong performer, newbie bassoonist here. Range extremes are iffy, def not for a pro, but otherwise this is not a problematic reed at all. Great job! 4 .5 out of 5 stars!

This isn't the best reed I've used but is one of the better ones. The reed smelled and tastes like cigarette smoke which is gross.

Nice tone. Required minimal tweaking to get in tune. Appears to be well made.

I ordered a couple of these reeds. My son plays bassoon and found that these did not play up to the level of his others (commercial reeds from Eastman and from Midwest Musical Imports). They were also poorly finished (thread loose, too thick), and, even after some adjustments, they did not play well.I'm a band director and willing to try things out to fit a budget, but I would not recommend these.

These reeds are just okay for me. They may be fine for others because each bassoonist has their own preferences. I, however, had to do a lot of scraping and modifications to them. Initially, I had to about blow my brains out to get them to speak at all. But, with about a week of soaking and scraping, they finally spoke. Not the best sound quality, though.
