• EASY TO USE: Bleecker Station's Bat System is easy to use - simply lift inner bats from the insert tab in the outer bat using your fingers or a flat potter’s tool. The outer bat has holes drilled through and is also easy and to slip onto and off your pottery wheel pins. Fits standard wheel heads with pin holes spaced 10” apart on center.
 • SAVE SPACE: Save precious space in your ceramics studio by drying your pots on small square inserts instead of regular round bats, which can take up a foot of space or more on your shelves.
 • MORE ENJOYABLE: Masonite absorbs water allowing your pot to release itself as it dries, which is safer than cutting it off the wheel head with a wire and risk deforming or dropping it or leaving your fingerprints on the clay. Make throwing more enjoyable by eliminating the wiring off step altogether!
 • SAFE: Insert tab is wide enough to prevent fingers from getting caught while throwing on the wheel.
 • DURABLE: The inserts are made out of Masonite and the outer bat is made out of a water resistant, durable exterior-grade wood material. This bat system is designed to accommodate swelling from exposure to water, so unlike other bat systems the inserts should still fit into your adapter use after use.
MADE IN THE USA.

 • FREE: Bat Pins Included.

This Bat System - One 12” Round Outer Bat Adapter & Six Rounded Square 7” Inserts allow for the throwing pots with a base 7” or smaller. Fits standard wheel heads with bat pin holes spaced 10" apart (measured from the centers). Each insert can be easily lifted from the insert tab in the outer bat. The outer bats are also easy to slide on and off wheel head bat pins.

The outer bat is made out of an exterior-grade wood material, and is very strong and warp- and water-resistant, but it can be damaged with long-term exposure to water. To protect your bat system, do not leave outer bat or inserts sitting in water, and gently clean and dry outer bat and inserts on their sides.

I love this bat system. I bought the set to start with and then bought extra inserts. I haven't experienced any warping after following care and storage instructions. I love the thickness of the bat holder. It helps keep everything so steady. Sometimes the insert sticks in a bit, but I use a wooden tool to remove it if it gets a bit stuck and it comes out just fine. My only regret is that when I came back to purchase more inserts again, it is out of stock, and amazon is unsure when or if it will be back in stock. So please, bring these back because I love them and they are a great value for the price!

Better than multiple pricey full-size bats, the Bleeker Bat System allows me to throw anything with less than a 7" diameter base (which is most of my work). If I have been too generous with the water, I will lift the work on its bat and allow it to dry out a bit, while working on something else (this also allows the bats to dry out, as well. The system makes for much greater efficiency in my studio.I can also cover up work with a bit of plastic if I am not going to get to it for a day or so, and delaying such work on 7" bats frees up so much more space than if I was using standard 12" bats. I also purchased a second set of inner bats (from a different vendor) to keep the work flowing. After a recent move, I have yet to find my stash of bats in storage. Now I don't need to work too hard to locate them. This system is excellent!

Pottery experience is just a few months. Overall, these bats are great so that I don't have to transfer from wheel to bat.I've had two issues:1. Some of the bats are just a tad small so that when I'm centering it can wobble a bit. I can fill the gap with some slip and clay and that usually gets it to be stable enough.2. The base can warp after some use. Be careful and let it dry thoroughly and it looks like it fixes the issue.

I was so excited for this bat system! I used these one time. When I came back to trim my pieces, the clay had dried quite unevenly. Some of my pieces came off of the bats as expected. A few others came off with several layers of the bat itself. I was able to trim off the shreds of wood from a couple of pieces but was unable to salvage all of them. All of the bats I used had swelled on the edges making them no longer fit if I wanted to try and reuse them. I would not recommend these.

I didn’t have high hopes after reading the reviews for these but I’m entirely convinced everyone else didn’t store the inserts properly.I’ve had these for 4 months now and haven’t had a single issue with them. The only time I did was when I left them in the damp box but of course they would warp after being in a damp environment for 2 days.Otherwise they’ve been perfect!

I had bought this product before and it was pretty good. But eventually I needed a replacement. The one they just sent me sucks because whatever the material is, I can't let my pottery dry on the bats or else is sticks to the wood and pulls the top layer of the bat off

Wanted to love them. But they shift a lot while throwing and they also swell quite a bit and there’s a sharp edge between the base and the insert that tore up my hand. Great in theory but not worth it.

This is my first bat system and I’m really liking it. When throwing several pieces, I can transfer them to a shelf still on the insert. These take up way less space than a 12” sized bat. I haven’t experienced any issues of the inserts warping. For clean up, I ensure both sides have been wetted, then towel dried. I place them in a rack actually meant for dish drying. This allows them to be stored on the edges where they dry on both sides at the same time. My research found this to be the factor in preventing warping and so far this method has been successful.I’ve also read complaints about the insert being too small and that they rock when throwing. I learned that by wetting both sides and placing a small amount of clay underneath the insert provides a pleasant experience with the bat system’s performance.Don’t let other reviews scare you away from this bat system. Do your own research and you’ll feel much more comfortable with your choice to purchase this set. I’m glad I did! Recommended
