This cutter is super easy to use, and cuts very well. I tried it on 3/4" PVC conduit, which has a thick wall and can be hard to cut, and it went through it easily. The blade ratchets in small increments as you cut, and then when you're done you can spread the handles apart and the cutting jaws immediately open to their full opening size - a very nice feature. There's also a lock to keep the handles closed when the tool is not in use.

Having used a couple of PVC pipe cutters, and finding them very useful, this one was ordered because it was cost-effective and appeared it would meet the need for an additional cutter.The pipe cutter was delivered, safe and sound, after 4 days. Which bettered the estimated delivery date by one day. The cutter, and its factory packaging (a retail, clam-shell card), were undamaged.At 8"long and 4" across at it widest point, this cutter is fairly compact. As such, it is limited to 1-1/4" pipe. The cutting edges are very sharp and the leverage which the design provides appears to be adequate. The exposed portion of the blade is around 2" long and is in a wing shape so that the center protrudes in order to contact the pipe first.So, how does it perform: It was used to cut several pieces of 1/2" and 3/4" pipe without difficulty and the pipe was not deformed during the cutting operation. Thus, there was no cracked pipe.One note: The bail mechanism, which holds the handles together for storage, is spring-loaded and is sharp and awkward to use. I much prefer the snap-fit, wire bail design for this purpose.

These pipe cutters are fairly well made, with the typical ratcheting action and adjustable angle to allow it to cut different diameter pipe. As long as you experiment with a spare piece of pipe to set the angle, you'll get clean cuts. Even without setting the angle initially, I was able to get mostly clean cuts in CPVC.The quality is decent, good enough for occasional use. It does have a tiny bit of flex and wobble, which I would think would get worse over time. If you need something to use for a larger project or more frequently, I would invest in a higher quality set of cutters.
