I ordered these knee brace wraps to help support my knee after twisting and injuring it, resulting in a meniscus strain, which I had never done before, and which can be very painful when trying to stay active. After the icing, rest, massage, etc., as it heals, it's important that the knee be stabilized while it's weak so as not to re-injure it. These really helped with that. And I can see why they call them bear grips - the grip is SUPER strong. Instead of the sleeve type of brace, which can be useful at times, what's nice about the wraps is they are so adjustable, so you can focus on supporting certain areas more than others, and use them on multiple parts of your body. I found in my case wrapping continuously from below the knee to above was too limiting and actually made my knee hurt more with it pressing on the cap, but when I wrapped a little below the knee, left the cap slightly uncovered, and continued behind the knee and above it, it kept my knee straight from twisting to the sides, but I could still bend it easily without too much pressure against the front which limits walking. I likely got this injury because I lift a lot of weight regularly, using my knees instead of my back, and probably over-strained it, so I can see where these wraps would be great for weight-lifting to support and prevent damage to your knees. They are plenty long, thick and heavy-duty, cover a large area, they are easy to wrap, and once you have them wrapped well (not too loose or too tight) and secured with the long length of heavy-duty Velcro, they stay in place.

Back in the day, I had a pair of Harbinger Red Line knee wraps, industry standard, and they work great. But when you were done wrapping, you had to tuck the end into the wrap. Not a big deal, but it could slip out and you'd have to rewrap. These Bear Grips offer the same level of compression but have 4.5-inch Velcro hook strips that you can land on 6.5-inch Velcro loop patches. It isn't hard and they stay put when doing full squat reps. That to me is a small but meaningful improvement. Now, the pros of this type of knee wrap versus the slide-on type is that you can customize the pressure simply by how tight you wrap them. With the other kind, you're stuck with whatever fit you have, at least until they stretch out, and it can be tough to get a proper fit. The cons with these is that they are tougher to put on and stay on. Again, the Velcro on these helps a lot, but you still have to wrap them right to avoid gaps when you squat, etc.In the end, these are definitely worth it if you are doing a lot of heavy bending lifts. The quality is top-notch and they look great in black and grey with the Bear Grips logo.

From a build quality, these seem to be fairly well made. I wouldn't expect any issue with them lasting for a while. Think of them as a thick version of your name brand bandage with velcro to secure the end rather than those little metal clips. My main issue is the bulk and how tight they need to be in order to stay up. In order to keep them on, I had to tighten them to a point where it was almost painful, especially during the exercise motion. Perhaps these would be better on a much bigger leg/knee than my own.Overall, I can't recommend these for someone with a medium build, but perhaps someone bigger could get a good benefit from them.

I have a torn meniscus. And it hurts. All the time. These knee bands are exactly what I have been looking for. They have totally adjustable compression. They hold my knee in place. The velcro tab is long and strong. I have ordered 10 different knee sleeves, compressions, ace bandages in the last month. NOTHING comes close to these, including a $200 German brand. These are amazing. I will also use them after my surgery and when I start to lift and get back to the gym. They wrap around my super swollen knee and keep it warm, compressed, and even feeling strong. I feel like a human being again. When the wrap is on I do not feel at all like my knee is going to give out. These are amazing. WAY better than any knee sleeves I have used for squatting at the gym. They are awesome. And the price - are you kidding me?! It is a tenth the price I have spent on ONE pull on brace that didn't offer a quarter of the comfort and stability that this knee wrap offers. And you get two - one for each leg. GREAT product.

I use a compression wrap on my knees most of the time when working out or if I am doing a lot of stairs. I hadn't for a long time and after torqueing a knee on a through hike trail in the mountains I started using the elastic knee braces. Not for mechanical support, but its kind of like KT tape, it provides that resistance to keep things from getting out of place so your own mechanisms can properly support and move.I was looking at these for expanding leg day. These are much more than just the casual KT type support and movement assistants. Now if I can just get them wrapped right without going loose or shutting off blood flow. I'm confident I'll find that middle ground. As to the wraps, they are well constructed and the materials have a bit of elasticity to them. The wraps are wide enough they should overlap each other with enough to support an still be able to move (that middle ground I'm looking for). The Velcro type finish is well stitched on so it isn't going to wear anytime soon.Overall, these are a pair of quality wraps. Once I find that perfect wrap for me I'm sure it will take me much farther along my "Leg Day" path.Better instructions for how to wrap, or perhaps a link to a video demonstrating how to wrap would be helpful.
