for the vw DSG transmisssion perfect fit. save a bundle compared to the dealership, but you do have to remove the battery, then loosen the air intake, to access the bell housing that holds this filter.(15/16 in socket required) then open the bottom plug with a large allen, 14mm if i recall. Inside that is an 8 mm "OilPipe" a snorkel that will not allow you to overfill the pan. remove this CAREFULLY GENTLY with an 8 mm allen. This bit is fragile, careful then drain the pain into your CLEAN EMPTY bucket. re assemble CAREFULLY GENTLY the oil pipe, the main plug, and pour off the old oil into a carefully graduated jug, I used a gallon window washer jug calibrated with a 1 liter lab cylinder ( wife is a marine biologist) if 4200 ml out, pour 4200 ml in pouring down the upper filter chamber is slow, REAL slow,it is 75W oil after all. then replace the bell house (new gasket included O ring) drive away. I had to go to VW for the oil, 25$ per liter, needed 4.2 of them have 800 ml left over for the next job buy 5 bottles, better to return one unopened than to not have enough I spent about $125 and 2.5 hours(mostly the slow oil pout) VW wanted $400

OEM filters are expensive. These are quality and cheaper. will use again and will also change filter more than OEM suggests since there are so much cheaper. The DSG is too expensive not to.
