Nice and shiny and clean and new. I think it’s identical to the stock sensor and it works. Sends temperature accurately.

Had an overheating problem on a 20-year-old Nissan Altima. Replaced the thermostat, that didn't help. Replaced the radiator cap, that didn't work. Then I tried this temperature switch... that did it.

My temperature gauge kept going to zero every time I pressed on the gas pedal and the needle would bounce back to the middle as soon as I let go of the throttle. This fixed the issue completely and the temperature gauge is back to normal. If you are having this issue, this might be the fix.The part takes a 12mm socket. The top part touched my regular socket, so I had to use a deep socket. You could use an open wrench to avoid this issue. The temperature sender in the 99 Altima is in the front by the upper radiator hose. I was expecting coolant to rush out when replacing this part, but everything was fine. I couldn't find a torque spec in the service manual so I torqued it to about 15ftlbs. Also, I used some teflon tape on the threads. No leaks so far.

Couldn't find one at any "Parts" store in town but had one from Amazon the next day. As good or better quality than the OEM temp switch. Perfect!
