Excellent for a small fountain in a container. Provides more than enough power for the 8" rise waterfall I have built. Best of all, after one month of operation the flow remains consistent and I have not had to clean the pump at all thanks to the filter.One negative - I cannot locate the advertised flow rate adjustment anywhere. This either does not exist or is broken for my unit. Not a problem for me, as full power is perfect for my application.

My application is in a 1/2 whisky barrel with a plastic liner to replace my previous fountain pump. This pump does not pump water like a fountain the water just dribbles out even when pump is set to + setting. I plan to return this pump. I'm disappointed.

I didn't want something very splashy (pun intended), just something to add interest to my container water garden on the balcony. This unit is just the right size and works quietly, so it won't disturb the neighbors. Easy to set up and maintain. If you have a large water garden, you might want something more powerful, but for small gardens, this is fine.Update:I bought it in October. It is now April. The pump is pumping less and less water.

I brought this kit, orginally to provide a good filter for a fountain I already had. I have to say I was very, very happy with the filter and filter encloseure that came with this kit. First, the filter itself is foam sort of like what you see in AC filter, but much more solid feeling. The base of the kit is really great. It's a large flat heavy metal base that has four tabs that the pump snaps into and thus is held solidly in place so if you have a smooth bottom surface on your pond or fountain it won't let the pump slide around to much. The foam filter fits over the pump and the plastic top cover snaps into place over that. Overall the water going to the pump is well filtered to get rid of junk getting into the pump. I've been using this set up since I got it and I've found this kit to be a really nice one. I can really say if I had had this kit earlier I would have possibly saved at least one and maybe two pumps as they got clogged up and broke down. I heartly recommend this kit.

This product is just what I was looking for locally in stores. My husband purchased one years ago at our local hardware store, but I was unable to find another. The product is great, arrived in a very timely manner and I'm enjoying the fountain on my deck.However, a Sunterra Cascade Nozzle was recommended as "some people also bought this." I thought, GREAT, another type of cascade of water. Well, the nozzle does not fit the fountain kit. It is useless to me! Unfortunately it is not worth returning as it would cost me more $$. So beware what you purchase to go along with the fountain kit.
