I got the MK2 version of the RD8. It is everything I expected it to be based on various reviews on social media. I wish it could send all audio outputs through USB but that would require internal conversion of the analog sounds to digital. The individual analog outs for each instrument provide enough flexibility if you have multiple inputs on your audio interface and/or mixer. Sound quality is subjective but in my humble opinion it sounds amazing.

It's ok. Not worth $350 or the space if you have ableton live already, which I do... at this point, my rd-8 has been downgraded to a fancy metronome that I can use on the fly when I'm practicing. The sounds are pretty basic. The snare isn't good nor is it versatile enough to make it sound good. The bass is good. Still haven't figured out how to record in 64 steps. Pretty much figured out how to use everything else though

I like;- The powerful sound- Faithful reproduction of the tr808 sound- Overall use and feelI do not like;-Individual outside too close to each othe by no more than 1mm- Two triggers at the same time messes up the amplitude of each other-CLAP is iffy at low volumeOtherwise a great purchase

Awesome drum machine. Takes the analog engine of the TR 808 and adds a ton of additional functionality to the original at a fraction of the price. Get it while you can.
