Cheese slicers like these have been a must have since childhood, but this is by far the best quality one I have owned. It has a nice heft to it and it works like a dream. The tension on the cutting wire is perfect and adjustment is a breeze. I also love that it comes with a spare wire, so I know we will get our money's worth. It is super easy to use and clean.

So far I have cut all types of cheese big blocks of cheddar, creamy Havarti, Swiss cheese from a wheel and none were a problem. Cut through them like butter. Nice feel in your hand not flimsy. Comes with extra wire plus the slicer is adjustable with quality adjustment screws. I highly recommend. For such a high quality slicer I think you will find the price perfect for what you get.

I don't mind this cheese slicer at all! It's very high quality and it comes with an extra wire in case the one in it breaks which is really nice. It's also very safe to use but my issue with that is that the blade isn't very sharp and something I have a hard time using it for certain cheeses. That is really my biggest complaint.

So far this has been great and I can't believe we have gone this long without one. I haven't tried to change the wire, but it works like a dream, so easy and so smooth. I just have to work on keeping my line straight.

I grew up eating cheese of the sort that cheese lovers loath - I won't mention the brand but it came in big yellow bricks that sliced into bread-sized pieces. A generic slicer with a wire and a roller made quick work of it. Eventually the wire would break, and another one would replace it.It always seemed to me that it should be possible to replace the wire, but it's a bit more complicated than that as the wire has to be terminated securely at its ends to be held taught in the frame.I took a gamble on this Bellermain cutter and have not been disappointed. It has a good feel and heft to it: reflecting design choices that favor quality over manufacturing convenience. It came with extra wires and it appears to be possible to buy more should I run out. The design is such that I expect it is also possible to buy a roll of music wire and re-use the terminations from broken spares. Yes, that's the kind of nut that I am.

I thought the slicer was decent to start with. Sturdy for certain, cut cheese alright and the adjustability for thickness was great. A few months in and it wouldn’t make it to the end of the slice and I started having big cheese chunks fly off. So, time to replace the wire I guessed. Well, the replacement wire was a complete flop and now the unit is useless. Despite tightening the screws down to the metal insert, the wire is floppy and moves around so I can barely start the cut and it doesn’t make an even slice to the other side. It’s too bad because I did like the slicer when I received it. The pictures shows it fully tightened and that’s with almost no effort from my thumb showing it’s loose.

Works like a champ cutting the cheese! :) Not much else to say other that it looks nice too; hard to misplace due to it's unique color and appearance!

This cheese slicer will never break! It's so heavy duty! And I love how beautifully crafted it is, it's so smooth and comfortable in your hand. Came with extra cutting wires which I appreciate. It really is excellent quality cuts my cheese blocks beautifully. I'm very happy with my purchase.

It’s heavy duty, but it’s not good. Adjusting it is not that easy, and different kind of cheese needs different height as the cutting cord has some slack, hard cheese tends to cut thick and soft cheese cuts thinner as cord is pulled less out.Will not recommend!

this thing will last a life time, solid and heavy, great wire holding mechanism too, will not fail.
