Preparing CX25

Preparing the CX25

  • Add water to the unit to reach the 3, 6 or 9 level indicator.
  • Use boiling water to speed up the heating process.
  • Fill the basket with ground coffee, using the basket reducer if required. Use a full basket for best results.
  • Place on medium-high heat.
  • Ensure heat source is not larger than the base diameter.

Espresso Shots

  • Let the unit heat and build pressure. Keep the coffee valve open.
  • When the water inside is boiling, coffee will being to drip from the spout.
  • Close the valve for 30-60 seconds to build sufficient pressure.
  • Open the coffee valve to pour espresso.
  • Maintain pressure by keeping the heat level constant. Adjust or remove if needed.
  • If the espresso splutters reduce the pressure.
  • Close the coffee valve when desired espresso volume is achieved.

CX25P Milk Steaming

Milk Steaming

  • Increase the heat to allow the pressure to build.
  • Continue to heat until strong steam pressure is released from the steam wand when open.
  • Fill a milk jug with 1/3 to 1/2 full milk.
  • Place the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk.
  • Slowly open the steam valve until there is a strong flow of steam.
  • Keep the tip of the wand near the side of the jug to create a vortex in the milk. As the milk froths, lower the jug to keep the tip just below the surface.
  • If you do not hear a hissing sound or it turns to a deep rumble the wand is too deep.

Love having the ability to properly steam milk on the road or camping, never could get a French press or the drill style frothers to get the right silky texture, now I’ve got an all in one setup! Doesn’t quite make “official” espresso but is still very good coffee with crema and also can act as a kettle to heat water for other options!

I didn’t purchase from Amazon but I wish I did because I tried for weeks to make a good espresso without success and since I used it they wouldn’t take it back.

中にコーヒーを入れてエスプレッソも抽出できるみたいですが、後片付けが面倒くさそうなのでミルクのスチームのみに使用。ラテアートは普通にできます。業務用マシンと同じくらいのクオリティでスチームできるのですが、沸かすまでに15分くらい。（これは沸かしてる間に色々準備して待てば良いと思います。）１杯作って、１時間後にもう１杯という感じでは使いづらくガスが付いてる間にまとめてスチームするイメージなのでラテアートの練習にはいいかもしれないです。ココアなどをお湯で濃いめに溶いてそこにスチームしたミルクを注ぐとラテアートできます。※早く沸かそうとしてお湯から入れてもなぜか綺麗にスチームできないので、水を入れて沸かしましょう。

コーヒー入れにくいです。すでに使わなくなりました。使用後、タンクの中がコーヒー色になっていたので逆流しているようで効率悪いのかもしれません。また、構造上コーヒー豆を入れた際の面積が広いので、おいしくは入れられません。モカエスプレッソ直火タイプの様にはおいしく入れられませんでした。高い買い物だったのに。。。ただ、ミルクのフロスト用としては最適です。というのも、抽出口が小さく2つの穴からなのでとてもきれいなミルクフォームが作れます。ただ、これも重い、使いずらい、ので結局端に追いやられています。。。

穴をあけて圧力計を付けてみました。CX25Pの7barにあわせて0.7MPaのをつけたのですが0.2MPaまでしか使わないので0.4MPaの方が良いかもしれません。本体取り付け部だけ平行ネジとし内側で銅パッキンとナットでシールしました（他はテーパーです。）圧力を見ながら作れるので、良いです。
