Have a bench grinder that had a broken shield. Saw & bought this one. Works fine but had to drill and pop rivet the new one

These are a nice pair of clear safety shields tabletop/bench grinders. The lens is made of a heavy gauge clear plastic material that doesn't seem to be brittle or easily broken. The attached mounting bracket is made of reasonably durable stamped steel. It is designed to be easily adjusted to best fit over the grinding wheel providing a clear view, yet protecting your eyes and face from flying particles - but, of course, safety glasses should always be worn when working around this type of equipment.However, I was too quick to believe these would fit "most bench grinders" when I ordered them. My original shields were old, dirty, and some were cracked so I grabbed these as replacements. However when I went to actually install these I discovered that of my 3 different bench grinders made by 3 different brands and manufactured over the last 2-3 decades ... none of them would fit these mounting brackets. I'll probably end up fabricating new, heavy gauge brackets for my largest bench grinder so that these will fit, but that just puts one more project on my to-do list. Next time I will check out the photos showing how replacement grinder shields are formed to make sure they match my equipment.

These eye protection shields attached to my grinder easily with one bolt and nut each. Hard plastic shields could be more easily adjustable if seller would have included a wing nut instead of the standard one provided. I would also have included a locking washer in the included hardware. Other than those suggestions, product will work nicely to prevent flying grinder debris.
