I am so happy that I bought this. This is helped me open up the smallest cans to the biggest cans with great ease and no sharp badges. This can opener does do what it says. It works wonderful my whole family prefers this over any other can opener that I had purchased in the past to include the electric one.

I like it. Works smoothly, leaves no sharp edges, lid can be used to close can, so no need to buy plastic tops. It also seems well built, so it should last a long time.

Out of the box-good looking, rubberized handle and large opener key, nice warm brown handle, seems to have excessively sloppy opener key. Other than key slop nicely built unit. Does it do it's job well? First can, felt that had to go around can three times to get lid off. Let company keep money but send complaint. Maybe operator error. Test on ten cans. Second can only one revolution can lid seemed to need prying off-not good.Still maybe me. Fifth can and this thing works great. Smooth action sounds good and cuts lid as it should. So good in fact that I knew cans one and two were learning curve. Can five I lifted can off counter and at end of cut slightly turned key counter clockwise. What a mess on counter and one third of my green beans into sink. Ouch! As an instrument technician this opener operates excellently with minimum effort. Looks good and sounds smooth. Both can top and can have no sharp edges or even a splinter. Found top hard to remove at first but by giving can very slight grip pressure hug seal is broken and top is popped. Keep can bottom in contact with counter top while opening or risk a spill. Believe price to be fair for what it is. End result it opens cans properly each time it's used once you learn how to use it. I recommend it and thanks Beneno team. A cut above. Greybeard

I have several can openers of this type and hoped I had found a better model in this one. Alas, it did not work. It messed up the top of the can so badly that another reliable can opener only got half the lid cut. Possibly this one was just a factory fluke?UPDATE: I contacted the company and the immediately sent me another can opener. I got it within two days. It worked perfectly and smoothly cut the top of the can off with hardly any effort on my part. I am very pleased with it. I would change the review to 5 stars but I did get a bummer the first time.

I had a can opener that I was perfectly happy with that finally got so "sloppy" and loose that it was time for another. This one is the 4th one I've bought but there was something wrong with the previous 3.This one is smooth and easy to use. I thought that the claim was hyperbole that the rim cut was so perfect that you could use the removed lid as a cap. Nope, not hyperbole. I don't need plastic lids for partial cans anymore. Just put the removed lid back on, it actually seals! It cuts in a different location on the can than most openers.I'm an engineer and really like the function of this on.

I only learned about this type of can opener recently from a video I was watching online. As luck would have it, my existing can opener was starting to lose its cutting edge, and was not spinning / opening cans properly. After watching a few videos and reading some reviews, I wanted to try out this side cut can opener. This differs than a typical can opener in that is actually cutting the top edge / rim off, and allowing you to remove the whole top so there's no sharp edges, or the cutting blade getting into the food.Instructions for Use:- Everyone knows how to use a regular can opener. With this, the metal guard lays on top of the can, you rotate the handle counter-clockwise to 'open up' the blade, put it on the lid, then turn it clockwise to lock down the cutting wheel, and then it will turn the can as normal. Once you overlap your initial cut, you'll feel the difference and then you just rotate counter-clockwise again to unlock, and pop off the lid. If you're really unsure, watch a quick video on it.Good:- It makes a very clean cut, as you can tell in the picture.- It's smoother and takes less force to open.- The lid doesn't fall into the food. Since this is cutting the outside folded rim, it stays on top and you can pop it off easily.- Easier to get the food out. Since a typical opened cuts an edge inside the can lid, food can get stuck when pouring out. With this, since its cutting the outside, you have a clean edge where food slides right out.- Takes up less room in the drawer. Not Good:- Initially, a little difficult to use but you get the hang of it quickly. Initially aligning it and locking it on the lid can take some practice.- Each turn doesn't cut as much as a typical opener, so you will need to turn it a few more times. This isn't a big deal since its easier to turn. You'll feel it when it completes its cut though.- I saw a few reviews that had this work on a soda can, but that wasn't the case for this one. The can is just too small of a circumference to let it latch on properly. Not a big deal and not something I would typically do, just thought it would be cool to try.

Nice design, easy to use. Took a star because the little magnet on the side does nothing...I thought it lifted the lid off once removed.
