It works well with both Di2 and hydraulic hoses. One of the terminal broke when I pulled hard (having used adhesive tape rather than the connector because I did not want to ruin the barb) but I got a replacement of the retuned unit very quickly. It's a very nice kit and does the same job as the blue brand tool for a fraction of the cost. The magnet is very strong and it works amazingly well on a carbon frame. Given that it's not something that you'd use every day (or even every year!) I would not spend more than this. I was going to give 4 stars but then the breakage probably depended on my use and the price and replacement make it really a modest but sound investment. Totally worth it!

I know going in that the large magnet would probably not work on the bike I was building, however, the lead magnet, and the catch magnet worked perfectly. I had a tricky frame with all of the spaghetti going through a single hole, and it was a tight fit. Being able to use the catch magnet to pull the lead cable through the tight opening made quick work of getting all of the controls hooked up. Granted this would have been much easier if it was a wired electronic groupset, but even with 3 lines of housing/hose it was doable with this kit.

Excellent tool. No complaints. Works better than expected. I couldn't bring myself to pay the ridiculous amount the blue box company is selling.

I used this kit to install a mew set of shimano disc brakes. This kit worked perfectly and was significantly cheaper the. The park tools version.

This thing works like a dream. The magnet is super strong that makes routing easy. Although the one end is getting banged up a bit already.

Cutter is super sharp. Seating tool worked great. Cable routing was a dream with the magnetic tool.

I worked hard on a solution to thread a hydraulic tube through my bike frame. Noting worked until I found this. It took 5 minutes, mostly to read the instructions. Don't waste money on the $75+ Park Tool version. This works.
