My betta loves this. I have it at the top of the tank half in/half out of the water and he sleeps in it daily.

I had high hopes for the Betta Bulb Hide 2.0 as a safe space for my betta fish, but I was disappointed from the start. The suction cup barely sticks to the side of the tank, and after just a few hours, the entire ornament came loose and floated around. The white design looks nice, but it feels really cheap and fragile. The cave opening is smaller than I expected, and my fish struggles to fit inside comfortably. I also noticed that the edges of the ornament were rough and had sharp spots, which could be dangerous for delicate fish. Overall, the quality doesn’t match the price and it’s definitely not functional for my tank. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Like the color and it stays put. It looks exactly as expected. My fish has swim bladder disease, so it helps him to stay higher up in the tank and rest.

Cheap plastic broken when I got it

I absolutely love this thing. It's the right size, my betta loves it, and it looks good.

It came completely crushed and I had to have it returned.

So, I have only one female plakat betta, but she stays in a 15 gallon cube tank with a large school of platy fish and endlers (which are like guppies). She has been in the tank for quite a few months at this point, and she seems really happy and content. I noticed that she hangout around the top level of the water and sticks close to the floating plants, and an artificial floating moss mat that I installed for all the platy and endler fry (new born babies). I have tried every kind of "betta lounge" out there like leaves, caves, floating tubes, and she just has not taken to any of them, whatsoever. I figured this would be worth a shot for something different.✅ GREAT QUALITY: right away, i could tell that this is 3D printed. the threading of it is very thin and small and very tightly laid, so this feels very solid and sturdy. it doesn't bend or warp at all and holds it's bulb form. because the size of the threads being so small, you cannot feel any kind of texture to it. you can barely even see the individual threads unless you're really looking hard at it. even with many little holes all throughout the bulb, it is completely smooth, with no sharp edges, pointing endings or otherwise any surface that could potentially cause damage to the bettas fins. because they have such long flowy fins, they also easily become ripped, tattered, and torn. so not sharp, pointy, fake plants, or rough, uneven textures. i appreciate that the makers kept that in mind when creating the design for this.✅ DESIGN: i actually really love the entire concept of this, because it's just as enclosed as a tube would be, but also has the interior space, and openness that gives the betta freedom to still love around. the many holes all throughout allows for water to still effectively flow through the bulb, but also dampens it enough to where it won't bother the betta inside of the bulb, especially when the betta is laying vertically and resting. the back where the suction cup is designed to attach is very methodically done, making it easy to remove the suction cup and replaced it, whenever necessary. the walls of the bulb are the perfect width, as they don't stick out too far when the bulb is attached to the tank wall, but offers enough depth for the betta to rest facing outwards, if it liked. the opening of the bulb is large which makes it easy for the fish to access it, and freely come and go as it pleases without having to do any extra or unnatural maneuvers.✅ FUN ATTRACTION FOR OTHER CURIOUS FISH: the moment i installed it, the play and endlers came right up to it, inspecting it and curiously trying to nibble at the edges, swimming in and out of it, and just being very entertained in general. they have been at it for the past several hours at this point, and it's pretty comical to watch, especially just guessing what their thoughts might be as they do. the younger and smaller fish have definitely taken to it, as at one point, i looked over and saw a small group of the babies, gathered inside of the bulb, as if they had just discovered a brand new location to hang out. LOL.✅ WILL PROBABLY TAKE SOME GETTING USED TO: i knew my betta would likely take a bit of time to get accustomed to the bulb, and even eventually figure out that it's there for her, and that she is supposed to go inside of it and rest. likely because i have never given her anything similar to this before. and she has just been hanging out around the artificial mat and floating plants, i can tell that it's going to take her a bit to figure out, and like it. i have guided her over to it, and shown it to her and she has watched other fish go into it and out of it. so, hopefully she will catch on, and give it a try and like it! fingers crossed!◼ OVERALL RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FIVE STARS ————————————————♡》》》 IN SUMMARY: i like it! i really like the idea and concept of this. i like how details were well though out and the fish's specific, species traits were taken into consideration, as well. it's very well made and constructed, and even the suction cup is a high quality suction cup! the whole idea is awesome and the product itself is actually pretty cute. it's small enough to be able to attach to the inside of a tank and not look like an obstruction or distraction from the overall aesthetic and/or theme of the tank, while it is also very functional and purposeful for the betta. it will take a little getting used to, and maybe even a little coaxing from the fish keeper, for the betta to understand that it's for them, and then to also form trust in it, especially being a place of rest and comfort. but regardless, im so happy with it, and i love the different approach and creativity in that went into it's design and purpose. ♡
