I had a 10 year old Italian made glass carboy fracture during the middle of a mead brew, luckily the crack was small enough it could hold out until I got this and could transfer it. This turned out much nicer than expected, and much better quality than expected for the price.Though everything was not as smooth, but the quality of the product itself was great which is why I did not down score it. out of convenience and price, past quick shipment times I went with Amazon over other options. I ordered this and then when I received my confirmation email it gave me a 2 1/2 week expected delivery date !I waited 3 days watching the tracking it had not even moved. I called up amazon argued I was promised a different date when I ordered all I received was an attitude. seriously the lady on the phone was rude and told me if I don't like it order somewhere else next time. I insisted it be canceled and my money returned I was promised it was, even given a confirmation number.Then 3 days later I received another email saying my order was shipped, I stopped and thought wait a minute wasn't that canceled ? checked the bank and nope the money was taken out. So this time I called and told the guy answering the situation and I wanted a supervisor, he agreed and transferred the phone call they apologized and after some arguing and telling them to check the phone records agreed to refund my money and did.I will never order from amazon again after reading ( Google: Super Slow Shipping)( Amazon Discussions ) It seems I am not the only one with this issue. So while the product is nice it will be the last one I ever receive from amazon very sad after over 10 years of business.

I bought one of these in February of 2016. I've used it to get water every few days since then. It's heavy to tote around when full, so make sure to get straps. It's solid and I've had no issues with it. It's a nice alternative to plastic. Since it's getting warmer, we just ordered another one so I don't have to get water as often. You will need to buy a cap if you don't have one. If you're buying reverse osmosis water, this recipe tastes wonderful:For five gallons: Dissolve the following in a few ounces of hot water, then pour into the carboy before filling:1 Tbsp Sea Salt1/4 tsp Magnesium Chloride USP1/8 tsp pure BoraxYou can also add some form of Silica for mouthfeel and health.

When the shipment arrive the box read 6 gallon carboy. Which initially i thought was a good thing, but now working with the carboy the larger size doesn't fit in the sink that we use to clean and sanitize our winemaking equipment. Now we have to carry this carboy upstairs to clean in the shower, which is a bit of a pain.The product is good quality and was a good value

Hello!Awesome product! Using for water only.Just one complaint - t it is so heavy when filled with water. It is difficult for me and I am a man that works out at the gym.I used the Dew Cap Replacement (light blue plastic caps) and they fit perfectly. The stand is could be a little sturdier, but it is working fine. We placed the stand in a corner to increase it's sturdiness. It is top heavy, so be careful. Using a glass carboy will do that, but we are willing to take the risk to get away from plastic. If you really want to do it right, I suggest purchasing the porcelain base (link above) and then hiring a local carpenter to build a very sturdy stand. Otherwise, the stand linked above will suffice.
