Great replacement for a craftsman 23oz wooden handle . I use to be able to replace the whole hammer when craftsman stores were around.Great hammer

I like the length, shape, and quality. I'm irritated at the product listing, only because it doesn't list the eye size. I've done that for you (1 5/16 x 5/8), so you should have nothing but good results if you have a hammer that fits this. I did not. I saw 1 5/8 in the listing and thought that would fit my 22 oz framing hammer. I think mine is an Estwing. Apparently this handle is made for a particular hammer that isn't mine. The eye was longer and narrower on my hammer than the handle. So I did A LOT or resizing, including cutting and gluing some extra hickory, and rasping the eye section about 3/4" of an inch farther down the handle (where the cross section was large enough to fit my hammer). I eventually got it installed, and it works great now. (although it would have made more sense to buy a whole new hammer in my case)
