This hoist has worked great for my purposes. I have two currently lifting a 500lb metal box. It pulls up smoothly and near effortlessly. I bought two more because of this.

It took 10 days to get it and then it was defective. The braking system didn't work at all, rendering the hoist useless. Thankfully Amazon's return policy took care of it
