I give it five stars for the price to performance ratio.I’m using this antenna for receive only with a Baofeng radio. It is superior to using a 17” Nagoya whip antenna. I’ve done back to back tests and the Bingfu picks up more signals and further away. It’s surprising how good it is.As many have noted, the magnet base is not strong enough for high speed highway use. They do include a 3M adhesive disc for more permanent mount. So five stars for performance and value. Just be aware of the weaker magnet base.

It works well with my Anytone AT-778UV... Magnet IS weak but that can be solved by using the magnet from a Harbor Freight parts dish superglued to the bottom... Coax cable could be another 3' long (1 meter)... Needed to use a SMA male to PL259 adapter... but that's something to be expected... Good starting antenna...

I bought this Bingfu Dual Band magnetic roof-mount Radio Antenna for my truck, to use with my Baofeng handheld dual band Hand Transceivers. It works way better than I thought it would. You can't beat the price! I mounted it in the center of the cab roof, and ran the tiny coax across to the back door, and inside the cab, and it reaches across my sunvisor and hangs down from my rearview mirror. I was afraid that it wouldn't stay secured at highway speeds, so I used a 1" wide strip of white gorilla tape (my truck is white) to just go across the front of the base, and along the coax to where it enters the door. It hasn't moved, at all - it holds perfectly, at least up to 75 mph highway speeds.I don't have any trouble reaching repeaters up to about 25 miles distance, and transmitting/receiving are both great! Tiny little antenna, that works like a much larger, more expensive one. I highly recommend it as a inexpensive get-by for handheld radios for those times when you're traveling down the road.

This antenna has a high SWR. I tested on all GMRS channels. But it does work. The magnet base is very small and not very strong. I would not use it on a moving vehicle. It wasn’t very expensive so I’ll keep it as a spare.

Comes with a two sided sticker. So, can't remove it, useless for the car. In addition, not getting any signal, tried the original my baofeng brought and it gets better signal.

Edit 12/08/21: I've spent alot of time playing with this cheapy little thing since writing my initial review...the SWR is still horrible, but it DOES work...if you tweak it. At minimum making an ugly choke wrapped around a piece of ferrite as close to the feed point as you can get it, 5-6 turns, gets me a very nice clean signal on the weather stations and across both bands..SWR will not go below 2 on 2 or 70, but it is usable. Reception will be really strong one minute, have to hold the monitor button on the next transmission. Very strange, but clearly there's a short in the coax or it thinks it's part of the antenna. I have been able to open repeaters 30 miles away with it in recent days, I cannot do that with my stock antenna, and the reception quality vs stock antenna is incredible...when it works. I'm not sure if it's overloading or what, but it seems to be hit or miss and is very finicky...one more turn around the ferrite and it's dead, any less and it cuts in and out every 2 seconds. I'm changing this from 1 star to 2 as when it does work, it works very well despite having higher than ideal SWR. It won't fry your radio if you use it for listening and short transmissions...I didn't expect much for $10...but working antennas for a cheap baofeng can indeed be had for that price (I've never paid more than $30 for a 2/70 antenna)..but this one totally shocked me. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but this one is warranted as this shouldn't even be on Amazon.Feels cheaper/flimsier than it looks, if you could buy a ham antenna at the dollar store, it would probably work better than this. Does not work whatsoever on 2 meter, SWR is so high that I don't think you could put out so much as a call for help without frying your radio (plus, nobody would hear you anyways). As other reviews have pointed out, there is most def a short in the wiring right out of the box that causes your signal to cut in and out horribly (it doesnt get much better whether the cord is fully extended or not).It does work on UHF with a laughably slight improvement in signal. I was able to hear and hit a repeater 12 miles from me with this hunk of crap, but received terrible signal reports. If all you wanted to do was receive UHF in your local area - this thing will...work.The magnet is non existent so don't even think about trying to drive with this on your car without the included sticky pad (which all but ruins the paint on your car..not at all easy to get off). I wouldn't want to drive any faster than 50 mph even with the sticky pad. I had better luck (again, on UHF only) sticking this to an empty paint can in my living room window. For $10-20 more you can get an excellent antenna with a 25-30 mile transmit range..I only bought this for a work vehicle and wanted to save a few bucks - my bad, you definitely get what you pay for in this case. I'll keep it as a last resort, end world UHF antenna so that I can talk to the people on my block if needed, it is completely useless for anything else, save your $10 and buy something else!

I read a hundred reviews and still bought it. Yes, the magnet is weak. No, it's not a problem. If you are smart enough to program the radio, you can certainly fix a weak magnet situation. This will stay in my pack and I hope I never need it. I also replaced the stock antenna on my Baofeng uv-82 with an aftermarket 10 inch. This was only because i saw it recommended so many times by real radio techs.

I now have a holder in the jeep and hook up my uv8 to it - not sure it gets any better rection thatn the standar arial as I havent been able to compare apples with apples - but it does get bertter reception than my boafen UV-9r plusOnly thing I don't like is that the screw in attachment to boafeng doesn't slip turn, so I have to wind the boafeng onto the Arial instead of the other way around.Magnet in the bottom sucks - so i got a neodymium out of and old hard drive and glued it in instead.I have it stuck next to a cowling light mount and it has only come off once sue to tree infested tracks - otherwise the bumping on extreme trails and rocky ground is fine and the magnet is good.I added a bit of tape on the mount so it wouldn't scratch after my mcgyvering

Very disappointed in this product first of all the magnet is so weak it barely sticks to anything. You certainly won't be going down the road with it on the back of your car. That being said in order to test it I had the crazy glue a rare earth magnet to the antenna to help it stick only to discover this antenna is tuned for FRS and made all of my reception worse do not recommend don't waste your 20 bucks.

This antenna performs well but the three I've bought all had the same issue...the bottom pad unglues and corrosion sets in.Also the magnet is quite weak and hardly stays on the roof of my cars. The price is good though but I guess you get what you pay for.

This antenna doesn't really promise much... and it delivers on that. I don't find much difference from using this external antenna on me handheld as I do with the stick small rubber ducky antenna that came with it. It is quote small (smaller than I thought from the pictures). It is not expensive so I decided to give it a try, if you are thinking the same thing, don't have big expectations.
