When my old pond filter bit the dust, this new design became the replacement. What an improvement! In a day and a half it went from murky green to crystal clear! Ran for about a month and even though the indicator hadn't popped, gave it a few twirls, green bilge came out, looking good!! I don't understand the comments about leaks. This unit doesn't leak at all. If it's not put together properly (user error) of course it could leak, but the design installed as intended won't leak. I like all the fitting options too. I'm using 1" corrugated in out lines (that can really move water with a properly sized pump!) And got a 1.25" lie flat hose for the dirty water into the garden. Don't understand why it isn't IPx5 or 6 water resistant (it's for outdoor use, right? And I live in a rainforest!) And they say it can't be covered with anything (I'm using an inverted plastic crate), but other than that nonsense is a fantastic filter and huge improvement in my case - glad my old one died! Very, very well made, definitely to US design standards.

Thus far, it is operating without any leaks. I have only recently begun using it, so I will continue to monitor its performance. It arrived undamaged and well-packaged. The item matches its description and image on the product page. The knob functions well, allowing me to easily direct water from my pond to the waterfall and back again, or into the flower bed for cleaning. I am very pleased with my purchase.

2nd time purchasing this unit. Easy to install and use. The pump mechanism when cleaning the filters gets stuck over time and eventually it does not work. The UV light also went out over time. Ordered a replacement, but componentes were corroded, so did not work. Eventually the housing unit for the UV light sprung leaks through the gasket and screws. I still give it a high rating. After all, the previous unit lasted me 2.5 years with every day usage.

Great job. In 2 weeks went from green water to clear water. Backed flushed twice and it is remarkable. Hope it makes it through the winter.

Filter works well but UV light does not work. Had to buy a new UV light for my pond.

We have a small, beautiful water garden near our entry. We planned to have the pond be “naturalâ€, balanced with plants and aquatic life, but felt having a small filter and pump would improve the water quality and this unit is perfect. It came very well packed and easily assembled. We had it running in no time. It’s easily hidden. Overnight it clarified the 1,800 gallon pond and the tiny ruby red fish we introduced to the pond clearly enjoy the added oxygen from the surface agitation. The crank filter cleaning system works very effectively - we hooked up a garden hose to the waste side of the filter and water nearby surface plants with the enriched water from the pond. We augmented the filter with a submersible pump that exchanges the pond water every hour. We needed more hose to hide the unit, but this type of flexible tubing is readily available on-line or at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

I have 5 ducks and a small pond ablut 12 x 24 feet and 3 feet deep. This filter is not up to the task. First, read the description and know it doesnt have its own pump. I hooked it to my pump and it worked ok for a while. Then the UV light broke/burnt out 3 months after installing the filter. But worst is that the cleaning feature doesn't clean much, requiring weekly full cleaning of the filter trying to keep my small duck pond clear. I turned the outflow nozzle then spun the handle both directions for a minute almost daily! But still had to disassemble and thoroughly clean the filter sponges and empty nasty goo at the bottom of the filter body.Ducks are gross. They make a huge mess and I know that. This filter may work for koi ponds, but not ducks!

We have a 6’x 9’ pond with ~12 fish. The water was very hard to keep clear, especially in warmer weather. We tried all kinds of clarifiers and enzymes with little help. After installing this filter, which is fed by a 600gph pump, it cleared the water within a few days. There was no noticeable drop in water rate to the waterfall after the filter.One thing that is not advertised is that there is a compartment in the bottom of the filter full of bio-balls, so this is both a mechanical and biological filter.It seems well made, and was easy to install. I buried most of it into the ground to keep it out of sight. Very happy.

Filter is hooked up & doin a great job. Haven’t had to clean my fountain head since I hooked it up last week, normally a daily event.
