These are a combination of decoration and preventive. We bought them to prevent birds flying into our windows. While an occasional bird strike still happens, the number is down dramatically. On a sunny afternoon, the entire living room glitters with their reflections. They are easily noticeable by neighbors walking by on the street - great conversation starters.

These are pretty decent, and the price is reasonable. Thye function as expected for the most part and do not look too bad while doing it. They are fairly easy to assemble and are made out of decent material.I mean, even if just getting them as a decorative addition, this is not a horrible grab. The only thing about a design like this is, it is difficult to control the coverage area, like, unless you have things to place it behind or so on, it is hard to control the areas it covers. This is not a deal breaker or anything, it is just, if you only need to keep them away from a specific area, especially the smaller it is, it is kind of hard to find ways to stop it from protecting other areas if that makes sense.Anyway, this is okay and if this is something you were looking to get, this particular product is not so bad as long as it endures the seasons. I would recommend, just make sure it is only visible to areas you want it to have an effect on.

These work great and were really simple to put up. I have 2 of them on a 6' wide window that a bird would fly into once every few weeks. Haven't had any happen since and they've been up for a couple months now. They also look really nice, they're eye catching. Reflect sunlight into the living room similar to a glass crystal hanging in front of a window. If it's windy and they're close to the window they may bump into it occasionally. Also my window is very tall and you can string these together to make them longer. That was nice but they didn't need to go that low to deter the birds and they would also bump into the window a lot when they were that long. Great product and highly effective.

This work for the first 2 weeks, I have to said, I was impressed, but after that, the pigeons don’t care, like nothing were there, I moved to different places, and didn’t work. Is like they learn what is that and the device doesn’t work anymore.

Have 3 around the pool area and the birds have stopped come by. Looks like a disco outside sometime but we got use to it. Better than bird poo...

We have many songbirds visiting daily to feed. Sadly, when startled, they’d fly towards our large glass porch windows. After numerous hits and several deaths, we searched for a deterrent. Moving the feeders further out and suncatchers in the windows didn’t help. We saw these hanging spinners and hallelujah, they seem to be doing the job. They’re okay looking and throw a lot of light reflections inside the porch but we haven’t lost any more birds, so we’re excited to have a solution.

I'm a big believer in scare reflection devices as I've been using them for many years to protect my fruit trees from depredation by squirrels and birds. The key is you've got to lay it on heavy to overwhelm the critters that you're defending against. If you can get motion to go along with it, so much the better.I was surprised to find that these are actually made of stamped metal. Most reflector stuff I've seen is made from thin, plastic Mylar. The instructions they send are not for this device but for some other type of sun catcher. Anyway, they arrive flat and fully assembled but you have to strip the protective plastic film off of each side of each leaf and then twist them to produce the wind catching, rotation inspiring form that you need. These are bunched together in sets of three leaves on each and the only swivel is at the top - so either the whole thing rotates or nothing. I would recommend when you twist the leaves that you be sure to twist them all in the same direction as they're going to need to cooperate together to build up enough force to get this thing rotating in the wind.Which, speaking of wind, I find that these thing are very reluctant to rotate in even a pretty stiff breeze, which is not ideal. I would attribute this to the sheer weight of the thing - although conventionally quite light, when you're trying to spin by wind power alone, it doesn't take much to provide quite a bit of resistance. But even if they don't rotate, the swinging in the breeze produces a pretty fantastic dazzle in the sun.I would rate these as a good adjunct to a heavy layer of scare tape. By themselves I don't believe these are going to provide much protection to anything but a very small area if they are concentrated together. But I am very glad to have them to deploy in a larger, mixed reflector type setup.
