Measure your tool to SEE if this will work. 1/4" bits that are short will obviouslydissapear. This device works great though on the wasp looking 1/4" impact drivers as it sits in the middle body of the bit. Many Multi-bit screwdrivers though are likely too thick to sleeve this device. The shaft has to be exactly 1/4" or forget it.The good thing is that even if ithis device can't fit your tool, if you take your normal short 1/4" bit you CAN magnetize it by sleeving the end tip. So it IS a magnetizer for a job. This magnet is strong and will do this task.

I have bought so many of these magnets. I use them on all of my drills and I give them to any techs I work with because not dropping/losing screws rocks! The magnetism is so strong. When I'm convincing others, I put a 3 inch deck screw on my magnetized bit and shake the heck out of the drill. The screw doesn't fly off and my parter is now on board.

These work, and they work well. But the hole is just tiny. Forget using it on any kind of flathead driver, as a flared tip just won't make it through. And even most larger phillips and torx drivers won't fit. That's the reason I'm giving it 4 stars. It's just not useful on 80% of my screwdrivers because they made it so small.

These are SUPER. easy on and off and actually hang on to the screws, even long ones.

I bought two sets of these, first for home use, then a second set for use at work. Makes working with all but the heaviest magnetic fasteners on a power drill with a sufficiently long driver bit infinitely easier. The only oddball thing is, for some reason (I haven't researched the purpose behind this seemingly industry wide decision yet; maybe there's a logical reason) it does not work with essentially any flat head screws. That is to say, I've yet to find any flat head (wedge head; channel head; notch head) that are ferromagnetic in the slightest, even though the shaft of the flat head drivers are, and will pick up loose screws or other ferromagnetic fasteners, washers, etc. So far all Philips head screws seem to be ferromagnetic, though. I'm guessing it's a difference is stainless steel alloy used to make the average flat head screw versus the average Philips head screw, which is unfortunate; and I haven't seen any drill mountable wedge lock heads to replace manual wedge locks for flat head screws yet either. But these are A+ winners for any application involving magnetizable fasteners.

Much smaller than expected. I was hoping to be able to put one on a normal screwdriver shaft while using the screwdriver, but that will only work on very small screwdrivers.I used popular Craftsman screwdrivers for size testing. It fit on a #1 Phillips screwdriver, but did not fit on a #2 Phillips. It fit on a small 1/8" flat screwdriver, but not on a 3/16" flat screwdriver. (Note: The size of the flat screwdrivers is measured at the end of the tip, but the tip gets a bit wider before the shaft so a 3/16" flat screwdriver is over 1/4" at the widest part of the tip.)The plastic "barrel" is 13/16" (21mm) long, but the magnets are only 9/16" (14mm) long (they don't go the whole length). The 1/4" Internal Diameter (ID) is the main problem. The magnet strength is pretty good for small magnets. These can hold a 1/4" hex shaft screwdriver BIT (without a bit screwdriver driver handle), as long as you don't need to put much torque on the screw.

It is a strong magnetic I use with my battery drill when I’m using screwdriver bits.

Magnet is not as strong on long reach screwdrivers, so you'd have to slide it near the tip for screws to stay secured.

I've used these magnets on my impact and screwdrivers for about 1 month now. They seem solid and well built. They definitely add a lot of magnetism to metal bits. I was sick of dropping screws in tight spaces ( I do maintenance on a high rise building ) and these solved that issue. I bought 2 to try and I'd like to get 1 or 2 more as well. There's no reason NOT to use them lol. They do not fall off, they are solid, they don't slide around. There are 2 or 3 little nubs on the inside of the magnets that hold it tight and in place. Once I figured that out, they work perfect. I do recommend these for anyone that needs some magnetism for their screwdrivers, impacts or drill.

These work great!Attach to the 1/4 inch boot on my impact driver and it will hold the screw in place. I don’t know why all boys aren’t magnetized to begin with, but this solution works great.
