Pros: Solid metal, versus formed sheet metal.Cons: The casting was rough and looks cheap. I ground down the high spots, smoothed the edges, epoxy-filled the pits, then sanded and painted. They look and feel better now.I am using these handles indoors, so I cannot comment on how well they would do in outdoor conditions.

My husband is in physical Therapy for issues with balance. I placed a couple of these at the tops of stratigic stairs. I was concerned that the screws were too short, but they really work well. Nice roundish handle. Here they are used for balance issues, not to pull himself up with.

These cast iron handles are heavy. They are being used as grab bars to help a person with walking difficulty to get up three steps onto the porch. There are no sharp edges like a folded metal handle might have. They have a texture to keep the hand from slipping. I used longer wood screws (with wider threads) instead of those provided and have no worries about these not providing a secure grip for the person.

Diese Handgriffe sind nicht nur für rustikale Scheunentore eine Option.An unseren Wintergarten Schiebetüren haben die originalen Griffe nach 30 Jahren den Geist aufgegeben. Original Ersatzteile waren nicht mehr verfügbar. Wir haben dann diese Griffe in Gusseisen in brauner Farbvariante als Alternative gewählt.Die Montage war einfach und der Griff ist absolut stabil mit vier Schrauben befestigt.
