One of the best investments I've ever made, this sander is light and so powerful very easy to handle and use does an excellent job sanding . This beats the hell out of sanding by hand on big jobs plus it cuts down tremendously on sanding time I got a recent sanding job done that by hand would have taken a long time in a fraction of the time with this fine tool. It is officially my new favorite toy in the toolboxThe Filter and cleaning itPeople want to know. How do you take the filter out to clean it? Can I buy a new one because mine is full and needs to be replaced? Not necessary after getting most of the dust from sanding out I took mine held it under running water to flush it out, then washed it in a container with warm soapy water, after rinsing it I left it out to dry it's good to go no problems or damage to it and looks like it was never used. My friend and I both have one when we first got them we tried to take the filter out doesn't come outSandpaperNo need to buy sand paper specifically cut for this type of sander there is a plate that comes with it that has little rod like things on it you just put a piece on it push down and you have the holes needed. I did not want to have to buy pre cut sandpaper because that can be rather pricey. After searching for sandpaper variety packs I found Amazon had the 50 sheets per pack I bought two,. After receiving it I went to work cutting pieces to fit the sander the original piece that came with the sander made a nice guide for the taskNot wanting to do just one sheet at a time I took the sandpaper that came with the sander and used it like a template laid it on top of 3 newly cut pieces and using a heavy duty thick hole punch used for leather which resembles an ice pick followed the holes and punctured them this way I get 3 at a time. It worked well no problem the sander works fine with itThe pluses1 It is light weight very easy to use and handle and works with barely any effort making tasks stress free, and it's a real work horse to2 I used it on a hard as stone oak desk that had a top that hung over on the front and sides cut them off making them flush with the frame. I used this little beauty aka my baby it smoothed out all of the area that needed sanding in mere seconds. It even reduced and quickly flattened a bit of a protrusion on one part leveling and matching it to the rest3 Just for the hell of it I tried sanding a patch of painted wood guess what? It, it took the paint off with ease4 This thing sands through stuff like a hot knife through butter I used it to make a beveled edge on the edges of my desk top in seconds it had a nice even beveled smooth edge that looks like a carpenter did it5 Clean up is a snap just remove the filter on the back clean it out put it back on and your good to go. I bought one as a gift for a friend I think it's true love because he is like a kid in a candy store with his new toy. Hope this helps

Works well for polishing car headlights as well as other things. There are many uses, but I bought the sander based on a YouTube video of a process that worked great. After seeing an informercial for a kit that polishes dulled headlights, my son-in-law bought and tried it. The results were disappointing and the effort was great. After hearing his story, I looked online and found a video of a man using a device like this with a microfiber cloth and the stuff you use to remove minor scratches on a car. This little sander does a lot of work in a short time unlike the manual pads from the informercial kit that are tiny and leave your fingers sore, plus don't do a good job. After polishing with this and the cloth instead of sandpaper, you apply wax to the headlight and buff with a second cloth. Both his car and my daughter's looked vastly better after this treatment. The headlights are noticeably brighter and therefore safer at night.For this first use, the filter that catches the dust wasn't as useful as it will be when I sand my window sills for repainting this summer, but it's a good feature that keeps the fine dust out of your eyes and off your clothes. I'm told the sander is easy to hold and effective. My gift included this little unit, the scratch remover, a can of wax and two microfiber cloths. Turns out it hit the spot.

I am still on the fence when it comes to this sander. I bought it for a diy project where I had to sand down an older finish off of a chest. These were my experiences using ita) It was really loud, enough to disturb the neighboring baby if used outdoors. I eventually used it indoors so wound up with a dust problem.b) After a while the sponge padding in the sander gave way at the edges. Dust started concentrating at these spots under the sand paper. As a result of this my finished piece ended up with scratches created by sand deposits under the sand paper!Also, at this point the sandpaper started wearing out faster so I had to keep changing more frequently.Maybe some of these were rookie experiences but be warned.

First sander I ever owned. I wanted to refinish a couple of small tables and also had a damaged chair that needed refinishing badly. I read reviews for the various sanders available and am glad I chose this one. It produced a beautifully sanded surface. It is just the right size and weight for me to be able to hold and maneuver. I have had fun working on my projects. It is loud but that is to be expected...Does the job I had hoped for...Really glad I bought it.

I recently installed new ceiling lights in my bathroom. I stupidly went from thee 9" x 13" rectangular lights to 9" round lights, which of course meant screwing up filler drywall and spackling. Despite my many exaggerated talents, spackling is clearly not one of them. I believe the phrase "five year old with a butter knife" was used.Insert new power sander.The power sander worked very well. It was powerful enough to tear through latex paint (I don't know what I was thinking) and sand down ghe spackle. There was still dust that filled the rooms, but definitely not as much as there would have been.I agree with the previous comments, that you should buy full sheet sandpaper and cut it appropriately. The device even comes with a hole puncher for the sandpaper. Please note that the vacuum does not work at all unless there are holes for the dust to go through, so be smart and use the included hole punch.As a side note, I was concerned and happy to see that I was wrong about the length of cable. I know you can use an extension, but it was the perfect length to get from the wall outlet to the ceiling.
