I bought this to refinish our kitchen cabinets, because hand sanding would have been almost impossible to finish.I probably spent about 8 cumulative hours sanding with this, and it works great. I was tasked with removing 2 lairs of paint and 1 layer of polyurethane, and 1 layer of stain from our cabinets. Worked like a charm without doing any damage to the wood. This is an excellent sander, and it's pretty easy to change the paper out once you get the hang of how it's mounted. This is a bit heavy to use if you have to sand things vertically (ie. Cabinet framing mounted to a wall), but it'll do the job.One of the best features if the dust collection port. I hooked this up to a dewalt portable shop-vac that plugged right into the dust collection port. This dramatically reduced the dust generated by the job.Ultimately if you have a crap ton of sanding that needs to be done, this more than pays for itself in the time and pain you will save, and you'll have it for future projects.

This palm sander is loud! That is the first thing that struck me. However, after the initial surprise over the noise, I found that the small size - (it fits nicely in one hand and is easily maneuverable) allows using it in areas and ways that save a lot of time where otherwise doing so manually would be exhausting and time consuming! Great little power tool for smaller sanding jobs. Also, the smaller size of the sand paper allows using larger sheets cut to size, so more economical.

For the price of this unit the quality is excellent!! I am not in a profession where I would need an industrial type sander. My intentions were only to use this for special projects around the house. So far I've sanded and painted a small step ladder for my daughter and a full size dresser, the dresser drawers, and the mirror. This sander works great!!! I love it!! I definitely recommend this product.

An excellent well made sander. Easy to load paper, stays secure and sandpaper stays in place. Has the option of hooking up a vacuum cleaner to draw up dust. FAST and gets the job done. Makes a project or job perform smoother. Lightweight and pretty easy to control, however, only 4 stars, "because it could use a handle in the back or on the sides" Maybe one that can be screwed on so you can switch the (extra control support) handle from left to right or no handle. Would I buy this again? MOST DEFINITELY!

Can't beat this palm sander for the price. I used and abused this sanding all my cabinets along w/ a Dewalt random orbit sander for the harder to reach stuff. I'd use them both for hours straight and although they'd get warm neither acted like they had any issues handling business. My ONLY two issues w/ both are more suggestions than complaints. The bag that catches the dust doesn't catch it all. I used a cheap Black & Decker mouse sander that had an enclosed plastic sawdust catcher that didn't let anything escape. Maybe Dewalt decided not to use this because it'd cause issue w/ overheating? You know somebody wouldn't empty it and complain the unit caught fire over their own stupidity. Secondly is the base that the sand paper attaches to on the bottom is made out of a tough rubber. While maybe they have good reason for this long periods of sanding will cause the sandpaper to get hot and actually adhere to the rubber. Then when you pull off the sandpaper it takes chunks of rubber with it. By the time I was done sanding w/ my palm sander I had to replace the bottom rubber piece due to this. I also avoid buying the "extra adhesive" 3M sandpaper now because although it sticks well to your average sander it'll become glued to this one if you sand to long. Buy the sandpaper that doesn't have the waxy backing to avoid this issue.

This is a good sander, don't get me wrong, It is strong, has less vibration than some and the tear drop shape fits the hand; However, I already own a Dewalt and only purchased this one because it supposedly fit common sized vacuum hoses. Plus, I think the customer support was awful. I own 2 different shop vacs, one with a large hose (a Rigid) and another with a one with a small hose (Wallmart brand) and neither of them fit onto or into the sander. I also tried it on the tiny Shark just to see, and it doesn't fit it either. It's not a matter of not squeezing it on, they literally butt up against the ring that is supposed to fit them.I called DeWalt and got a condescending rep that was no help. He kept "deciding" what was going on whether or not it was in any way accurate. My suspicion is that since I was female, he "decided" I didn't know what I was talking about. He "decided" that I was talking about an orbital sander despite me giving him the product number several times and correcting him several times. Later, after I had told him it was a palm sander yet again he said "well, when you said orbital sander..." Ah, I see, I thought, MY mistake. Next, he decided I obviously didn't know where I was supposed to be hooking it up to the sander, and explained where it was several times despite me asserting, and displaying that I did know. Then he "decided" that the hoses fit and that I just wasn't pushing them on tightly enough. After explaining to him several times that there wasn't a possibility of pushing or wiggling as the hoses both butted up against the rings he had me measure the hose. Finally, he "decided" that they couldn't make an adapter to fit "every hose" and that there was nothing he could do and that I should "make an adapter."*sigh*

Before I had a Black & Decker sander and it broke. I bought this Dewalt sander and is quieter, vibrates less in hand and more effective, I recommend this product.

As with DeWalt tools in general this little weapon is an absolute gem. Bought to replace a Makita that had given many, many years of excellent service, I began by looking for the same model, but, seeing the price of this one, I thought I would treat myself. I couldn't be more satisfied. Relatively quiet, fairly light compared to some others, but best of all, very little vibration. This makes it easier to use than most, when in action for long periods of time. The clamps are more than strong enough to hold the glass-paper in place, another plus, obtaining an excellent finish rapidly is a simple matter. All in all, a wise choice, and money well spent. Highly recommended.

Dewalt siempre ha sido calidad garantizada, sin embargo en esta compra, aparte de la calidad del producto, se suma un excelente precio. La entrega en tiempo y la atención inmejorable.

Very good, solid, satisfying tool to use. First job was sanding kitchen worktops. Takes (expensive) velcro sandpaper sheets or, in my case, sheets cut from a roll with holes punched in by a standard office single hole puncher. The wire retaining clips are sturdy and secure the sheets. The dust extractor does extract about 80-90 percent of the dust. Good results working with the grain for finer finishes.

Nice little palm sander, good quality and really sands well...makes these tedious finishing jobs a lot easier and quicker. Every woodworking shop needs one of these!
