For 2007-2018 JKs, not 2018+ JLs, this cover will replace the fuel filler plastic housing. There are four Allen head screws that require a 4mm wrench and there are also two false screws. The ones that should be removed, though not covered well in the instructions, are the two on each side of the door. Ignore the top and bottom screws. Once removed you'll be left with the ABS housing that holds the fuel filler neck & hose. I advise looking at some YouTube videos for guidance on the smartest/quickest way to do the job. I preinstalled the gasket in the ABS housing. Prepare to use some lubricant like WD-40, spray detailer or dish soap to slick things up if needed. When set, screw the aluminum housing with the door back onto the plastic inner piece being careful to nut strip out the female side of the fastener. I had to replace the OEM gas cover on my 2014 JKU because it was failing to close and would often open in stop and go traffic. I like how this is a more robust replacement cover and it looks good. Installation was simple and the included instructions led me step by step. I really, I am happy with this gas tank cover door.

I got this for my husband because he tried to use a locking gas cap before, but it ended up breaking after using it for about a month. So, I got this and he loves it. It looks good after installing it, and it does what it is supposed to do without worrying about the gas cap. Very secure.

Fits perfect… love it. Look up on YouTube how to install has the instructions were hard to follow. Very easy to install. A 5 yr old can do it.
