I bought this for use indoors with my ever-growing collection of house plants--it is in my kitchen foyer where plants receive the best southern exposure. My husband and I assembled the shelf tonight in about 20 minutes, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. Once assembled, it was light enough that I could easily move it across the room and into place by myself, but it is sturdy enough that I felt quite safe placing many heavy plants on it. I left out one shelf in order to accommodate some larger plants (I skipped the second from the top); as far as I can tell, that didn't compromise structural integrity much, if at all. Overall I'm very pleased, and my husband and I both agree it looks lovely with my plants on it. In fact, I will probably purchase a second shelving unit as my outdoor potted plants need a winter home...and I'm a plant-o-holic.

I was very happy with how this was engineered and put together - super quick to assemble with good quality parts. It looks really nice and fits standard plant trays perfectly.Because I am principally using it to grow microgreens and baby salad, I am hopeful this will be a good substitute for the $300-500 stands made for that purpose. However, I am still working out how to hang the LED grow lights - I am only moderately clever and so far I haven't come up with a great system. But I think I will, and the big cost savings will be worth it.

I am very pleased with this Black Metal Outdoor Patio Plant Stand. It was assembled very quickly and despite being light is quite sturdy. I was surprised at how goodlooking it is. I think that it looks better in real life than on the computer. I did leave out one shelf because I wanted to put taller plants on it. The only detraction that I do have is that the shelves are not adjustable. However this plant stand suits my needs perfectly. I have taken my plants off the floor of my balcony. This gives my balcony a much tidier look.As I haven't had this stand very long, I can't comment on its durability. It was delivered very quickly. I ordered it on a Thursday afternoon and received it Saturday morning.

Sturdy. "Metal" (I guess it is metal. Who knows these days? Reminds me of something that is a little stronger than those aluminum swing sets that had when I was a kid. If you drop one of the pieces it "clangs".) Tall. Several more shelves than I anticipated. However the lack of spacing between the shelves is not what I anticipated. I have a lot of tall plants that need to fit on here. And the others will be tall next Spring/Summer too. The assembly is not "hard". It is just annoying. The instructions are literally a one page paper. It has the shelving unit drawn on it as separate pieces with arrows in how the pieces are to be put together. There is no final product to look at. So you have to come back here and hope that Amazon has what it is supposed to look like (they don't always do you know?). Also, one thing I can share is that the side panels have criss-crossing/lattice type of lines. They are like crosses or the letter "t" if you will. The horizontal part of the "t" is welded onto the vertical part of the "t". So the horizontal piece will be welded on the "outside" or the "inside" of the vertical piece, from where you are positioned to the side panel. So make sure they all face outside or inside. Otherwise you will not be able to finish the assembly. Again there are no labels on the instructions or worded instructions to tell you this. You can easily make a mistake. Also, as another reviewer pointed out, I would also make sure you don't put the top and bottom parts together "backwards". If you study the picture the horizontal bars go on the back. So make sure the holes on the vertical bars on the bottom are on the back. Another easy mistake to make as they are not labeled in anyway. Lastly the rubber feet are not the modern caps that you tap into the holes of the side panel poles. Instead they are the cheap rubber ones that slip on over the poles. I hate that. They can easily tear or fill up with water or dirt (I have mine outside). If they don't last then you will have a rusty metal pole standing on wherever. I hate that. And there are not fasteners for attaching the top and bottom parts of the shelf together. The shelves and sides are fastened with screws. But the top part just sits down on top of the bottom part---male and female ends/connection parts. I thought that was odd.

Easy to assemble and sturdy, however all the screws and some other areas have rusted through after being outdoors for 4 weeks. Won’t last long outdoors as advertised. Disappointing.

The Black Metal Outdoor Patio Plant Stand 5 Tier Shelf Unit was a nice purchase. The stand is 5 tier as pictured. It is very lightweight. The metal is very thin, so don't expect heavy gauge metal or anything. It is fairly cheap looking when you pull the pieces out of the box. But, once you put it together, it looks a lot better. The stand is solid once built, and it is more solid once you put plants on the shelves. These kind of stands are hard to find at a good price. They are pricey, but worth it to display your plants. The stand is metal, and metal does rust if you live in an area with moisture. So, expect that.I would recommend that you secure it against the wall if you can, and you should put the heavier plants on the bottom to keep the base at the heaviest. It would be nice if I could find a plastic 5 tier plant stand like this. It would be easy to clean with a hose and would not rust. But, I was not able to find one like this and as tall as this stand.I do recommend this 5 tier plant stand. It is good for indoor or outdoor environments. It is a little pricey, but most of these kind of stands are priced fairly high or even higher. If you want a more heavy gauge metal stand, you should buy a different one as this one is lightweight thin metal like sheet metal.
