Works fine. Fairly solid. Feel like it makes my laptop harder to steal.

My only complaint about this computer lock is that the cable is fairly thin and could be cut with only a bit of effort with pliars. The lock was easily set ot my combination and the locking mechanism seems to be secure. It is only designed for current model Dell computers with narrow lock slots.

A key lock would have been better than the combination lock.

This item is as I expected it to be. It fits my 2022 Dell Inspiron perfectly. I had an old one from a previous dell that was too large for the slot in my computer. I often sit out at fast food places just to use the internet and get out of the house. One is at a gas station with a lot of people coming and going since it is a truck stop. I worry a little bit about my computer going missing when I run off to the restroom or if I forget something in my car. This gives me some comfort.I know you can relatively easily figure out the code for this style of lock. But it takes more time than I am gone from my laptop to do so. I had to do so for the old one I mentioned above because I forgot the code. After a You-tube video I got it figured out within maybe 30 minutes. I’m away from my computer probably five minutes. Without a lock it takes two seconds to steal a laptop. The odds of a random person walking through knowing how to decode it well enough that they would even attempt it is next to nothing. Therefore, I feel very confident that this is a good computer lock for me. I don’t suggest leaving your computer in a public place for hours but for short spells like 5 minutes or so this is perfect and very easy to use.I have no idea how easy these are to cut. My older lock’s cord was significantly thicker and tough metal. It would be extremely difficult to cut via that one. This one is very thing but it is metal with a thin black coating. Again, no one is going to be carrying around large pliers in a gas station and waiting for me to run off just long enough for them to steal my laptop, so not worried. The cord is nice and long, perfect length. The loop at the end of the cord is the perfect size to make it easy to use. I was at first concerned since the loop is formed by connecting the end of the cord with itself and wrapped in that thin outer black material which is either plastic or rubber and that does seem so secure or long lasting. However, when I inspected it closer, I could tell that there is a metal link under the outer coating holding the two parts of the cord together securely so it won’t separate. The only thing I’m not a fan of is how loosely it fits into the computer but that honestly, is probably the computer’s slot being a little too shallow. I can’t think of a way for them to fit that. Mine sits at a bit of an angle when attached. The lock is nowhere near heavy enough to damage the computer’s shell. I do like how it has a little soft pad between the computer and the metal part of the lock. The combination and button are easy to use. It is very easy to turn between the different numbers. The numbers don’t have to be perfectly lined up because that would make it a little irritating when you go to open it (clearly you still must be on the number and not half in between two numbers by the way.) Also, this lock works exactly like my old one does. You can only change the combination when it is unlocked. It is easy as you just turn the screw on the bottom and push it in. You’ll need a flat head screw driver. Then you set your new combination, and turn the screw back to its original position. The combination when it comes new is 0000, so you must change it right away.Overall, I recommend this lock. It is made well and reliable. It is awesome that they are cheaper these days. The old one I mentioned was about $50 originally and today I noticed it is around $30. My computer is about $400 dollars. It was the cheapest Dell that they had at BestBuy in 2022. I think locking even a cheaper computer (since they get as low as $100) is a good idea because it only takes a second for someone to walk off with it. The lock is worth the money and it makes me feel better.

This laptop lock is made for "wedge" style slots (N17). The packaging looked good. The instructions on resetting the combination and lock/unlock were on the back of the packaging. I was able to relatively easily reset the combination. You will need a very tiny flat head screwdriver or similar to reset the combination, so be sure you have something small enough. The lock fit my laptop just fine and seems to be made of solid quality metal. The cable is slightly thinner than my other style laptop lock but that may just be the plastic coating that is thicker.Overall: I think this is a good product. There is nothing that stands out as excellent, however, a 5 star rating for the product seems fair. I have no information on longevity at this time and will assume it would hold up as long as any other similar product. As always, if I find this to be different I will return and edit this review with that information and adjust the rating appropriately.

Overall this lock works well on my Dell laptop. It does what you expect a cable lock to do. They could improve the ergonomics of it by making the combo easier to input in when its locked to a laptop. Currently the 'front' faces away from the user, so entering the combo is not as easy as it could be. This is a minor complaint though.

This Sendt Combination Lock for Wedge/N17 Security Slots works well for my newer laptop notebook. For some unknown reason, at least one computer manufacturer (mine rhymes with "Bell") has moved away from the older style laptop/notebook security slots that have been in common use for about twenty years or so, to this new style for which new locks must be acquired. In that sense, this new locking cable works well. I also like that the combination can only be changed by rotating a recessed switch with a small screwdriver while unlocked, as some of my older ones could more easily be changed accidentally with a push button. And while this cable lock can be easily cut with a tool like most others, that they're often locked in semi-secure locations such as offices helps to mitigate that risk.
