Needed to replace my black Berkey filters in my Big Berkey. Can't get the Berkey filters anymore, so tried these. The flow is just like new, and the water tastes just like it did when my Berkey filters were new. Priming was easy and everything you need to prime and test is in the box (red dye and blue primer). I checked out the online list of what is filtered out and it's quite extensive. They don't claim to filter bacteria but from what I read online, that's what got Berkey into trouble with the EPA. I like the idea of replacing once per year since some contaminants are reduced to a greater extent than others. Plus it's priced attractively compared to Berkey. Seems reasonable for something as important as my drinking water. Good job Boroux, five stars!

We have used our Berkey for years and I love the asthetic and the long-lasting filters. I understand that recent events with the EPA have questioned the efficacy of those filters. I tried to learn more about this and honestly just got really confused. But I want a gravity powered (no electricity needed) option to make our water healthier, and I don’t want to buy a new filter every 1-4 months.Enter Boroux!! Who answered my prayers and needs! I am so glad that these filters are compatible with the system I already have, and that they are fully honest and transparent in their claims with the facts/proof to back it up.I am so thankful that this affordable and reliable solution is on the market. Seriously, God bless you guys! Having a system like this can last my family years and I feel great about drinking this water. Simple and delicious, as water should be! 🤩

They finally came and these guys have pulled off perfection once again. I recently put their black spigot on my beloved zero metallic taste all glass “The Water Machine†and won’t ever stop smiling about how well it’s made and works after trying/experiencing endless crappy spigots, and now they’ve clearly perfected the filters as well. Not only do they filter/function excellent, they seat in the chamber better than all the others I’ve had over the years and come with an awesome/effective priming system and the test dye. All these guys have to do to now to be the reigning champions of this version of water filtering (imo) is offer a “perfect†all glass version, an option for a version of Santevia’s mineral rocks for both the minerals and bumping things alkaline a couple degrees, and a heavy duty reversible stand that can be either the common 6 inches or higher at 9 for tall water bottles, stock pots, etc (like mine is) since their spigot never splashes at any level you put it. If they do I’ll start buying them to gift to everyone I care about. Why skimp on your water?

We have had our Berkey water filter system for about 2 years. We had been very satisfied with the water quality and taste. It was time to replace the black filters, we ordered these under the assumption that they would work the same. Unfortunately that was not the case, the water seems to flow through the filters rather quickly compared to the original filters. The water doesn’t taste much different than the tap water from our faucet, leading me to believe there is something wrong with the filters. Perhaps the filters we received are defective and that is why the water flows too quickly through them, not allowing the filter to properly filter the water??

When I couldn't locate any Berkey brand black filters ANYWHERE, I did an online chat on the Berkey website, asking where I could find their replacement filters. They proceeded to gaslight me by sending me to non-existent websites of retail distributors or ones that showed SOLD OUT only. Did a lot of lengthy research, then came back to the chat and explained that I had discovered the REAL story about the FDA yanking them from sale. That's when I found out that Berkey already KNEW about it and had sent me on a wild goose chase. Boroux has stepped in to fill the void with a comparable, compatible, available, and arguably less expensive version. Beautiful packaging PLUS each pair of filters comes with a primer and dye reset that Berkey charges an extra $20 for. Berkey says they're gearing up to start manufacturing their black filters again, but for me, it's a case of too little too late. I'm sticking with Boroux.

Perfect replacement right from the source. dye kit included. Nicely boxed and safely shipped. This of course went in without any issue and works exactly the way it should. It may cost a bunch but there is nothing like using the official brand instead of aftermarket.

I have a small Berkeya nd with it being just my husband and I, I waited double the reccomended time to replace the filtersa nd found that Berkey was sold out, well, after 2 years of waiting for an in-stock notification and getting none, i did a little research and found out why- Berkey can;t hold up to it's claims and so they have to prove it or stop selling, so they stopped selling. I got these to replace my berkey filters and they fit great and work with the flouride filterzs as well.

After a couple of years checking Berkey's website for filters off and on and seeing them sold out all the time I just gave up and bought a water filter that didn’t cost the earth. Then it was easier to buy Evian water every week. However it’s not cheap so I started the hunt for filters for my Baby Berkey and after loads of research and shall I shan’t I I bought the Boroux filters. I finally primed them and it took me so much longer than I thought it would. I don’t have a gallon container to drain the filters into when you do the red dye test so it meant a lot of faffing around and more faffing around trying to find things to drain the dye water into. Finally I fitted the filters and put water in the container. Luckily I didn’t fill it up because I had fitted a new tap and I wanted to make sure it didn’t leak, which of course it did. So after a lot of mopping up and fitting the tap again I now have my Baby Berkey back albeit without flouride filters which is the only thing I miss. Don’t make the mistake I did and throw the dye and the little blue hose thing that attaches to the filters and the tap away. I had to go through a very full kitchen bin liner to dig them out. The most important thing is the taste of the water. Well I love the taste of Evian but the Boroux water for some reason makes me drink much more. I am dreadful for drinking as all I drink is water and getting even a litre every day is a real effort as I don’t like drinking. Now I find myself looking forward to the next glass. My doctor will be happy.

Anyone with a genuine Berkey will know that genuine Berkley replacement black filters are almost impossible to find. They are listed on official websites but nearly always marked as "sold out". Dig a little deeper and it seems they will never be available again, well not anytime soon. Not to worry, these replacement filters appear just as good, fit perfectly and more importantly are available. Easy to fit and prime and nicely packaged as well.

I personally didn’t like it as it left a Chemical taste in my mouth. I filtered it for a few weeks and did the die test.
