We bought a lot of cheese when we were in Wisconsin and I wanted to make the blocks smaller. So I used this wax to seal the cut ends of the already waxed loaves of cheese. It worked great. The wax melts under low heat. It coated well. Still working on clean up but I used a pot I don’t mind throwing away. Excellent product.

I receive my second order of wax (which was finally enough to cover all my blocks) and immediately began melting it to cover my homemade cheese.The melting was perfect, quick, and covers beautifully on my block of cheese. To melt the entire block was extremely easy, as,I have quite learned how to cut it into smaller pieces without a lot of struggling. To be honest, I gave up and simply put the entire block in my double broiler and just held it as it melted (which wasn’t as long as I thought it would be). It dries extremely fast on my cheese (perfectly encasing it to begin the aging process) and I found that what I didn’t need and stored away, the second time I reheated it, was as awesome as the first. It melted very easily and was still just as easy to use as the first time. The tear away, or removal from the cheese is actually just as simple and easy as melting and brushing it on. Easier in fact. It’s a very good quality wax and I’d probably try buying it again from this company.

first time using cheese wax and it was fairly east to use, the color was great. It worked well coating the chunks of cheese I wanted to preserve. I feel it was a little expensive for the amount of cheese you actually can do

First time using the wax and my tip is to melt it in a oven roasting bag in a pan.. makes clean up and hardening a breeze for next time use

I smoked various cheeses to give as Christmas presents. I ordered tis wax to preserve the cheese. In a double boiler it melted very easily. I chose to brush it on the cheese with a paint brush rather than dipping. The wax cooled very quickly on the cheese and it looked beautiful. My friends and family were quite impressed. I did have a slightly hard time cutting off a small chunk to put in my double boiler, I didn't want to melt the whole block, but my husband came to the rescue. It is worth the money and I will definitely purchase again in the future.

Great product - waxed two 7.5†cheddar wheels (2-3 coats) and can still wax a few more with the remaining wax from the 1 pound slab. It melted quickly and dried super fast (I put the 2 wheels in the freezer for 15mins prior to waxing). Will be buying more again for sure.

Easily melts down on a low temperature. I redipped my cheddar 3x each side as I am a first time user and I was not sure if one dip alone was sufficient to store cheese and be shelf stable. It reminds me of those little red disc cheeses baybel. I poured my leftover wax into a container with parchment and then stored that with some of the original block the next time I get more cheese. I heard this can make cheese last a year on the shelf so will see how it goes. I wanted an option for storage other than the freezer so that even without electricity I will have some cheese on the shelf.

This is my first time using this product and I'm very impressed. I'm using it to wax my home made ricotta salata cheese and this wax is great. It's easy to use and is completely odorless of course. If you're a cheese maker I highly recommend this wax for this application.
