I bought this to use on some thicker metal that I didn't think really shielded gas was going to work well with. This was my first experience using a positive ground, high amperage weld and I was surprised by how easy it went and how well it welded. I was using this wire for a wood stove that had developed some cracks over the years and was consuming too much wood because of the air being pulled through the hairline cracks. It welded well, ground down nice and seems to be holding up just fine.

Using this wire for outdoor welding. Running in a Lincoln SP-175 Plus using a knurled drive roller. Works well on "dirty" materials but has quite a bit of spatter depending on how "dirty" the material is. However, on well-prepared materials, spatter is at a minimum. Obviously, weld quality depends on more than the wire. The welds come out as I expect MY welds should. I have had no wire feed problems. Again, knurled roller. This wire, in my opinion, is an excellent choice. The price for a 2# spool was the final selling point after doing internet research. MADE IN THE USA is a bonus!

Good wire! I like it better than the Lincoln and the HF Vulcan (Italian made) wire. Used this to weld up some 1/4†plate for some custom large door hinges on my shed. Not a professional welder, but this stuff works well. I opted to not MIG for quick setup, but still prepped the the metal well and cleaned with acetone. Minimal spatter and easy wire wheel cleanup.Used on an HF Vulcan Omni-pro 220 multiprocess welder on 120V with base recommended settings set for 0.30 in the preprogrammed setting, but I dialed down the wire feed a little bit. Was surprised this was manufactured in China, but it burns really well, vs the US and Italian made stuff. My fave MIG is the Italian INE inefil for general MIG, but blue demon is my go-to wire for flux now. Good prep makes a difference even with flux core!Cleanest burning FCAW wire I’ve ran in the Omni-pro 220!

So the good:Really, really solid penetration. If you're doing a kit build or something, where you've got a bunch of pieces already filleted and beveled, this stuff will whip it together faster than any gasless FCAW wire I've ever used. Tac welds on tight joints are a cinch. Also, for the price, it's pretty good—certainly better than its closest-priced competitor here in the US, HF's Vulcan.The bad:You really, REALLY don't want to try to do any build up with this stuff, and when it spatters, it spatters BAD. Really the only way to deal with gaps is to do really fast and light stitches, wait for it to cool, clean, and take another pass. After four or so tries like this, you can fill in small gaps. Normally, that wouldn't be so bad, but I honestly found this to be a nightmare to clean. The slag itself isn't much of an issue, but it leaves brown powder everywhere that seems stickier than what I'm used to, and the bbs really dig into the surrounding metal. It's also the first wire I've had that made full-on bubbles when I was welding. They ended up looking like hatched eggshells or something.Overall, I think Blue Demon is shooting for a flux wire that offers MIG-quality welds for hobbyists. It's really quick for perfectly mated joints, but if you're used to staring at a puddle, it soaks, globs, and sticks to everything *but* -itself- in a way that makes for some really unpleasant welding. At least in my experience, Forney's E71T works a little better for well-prepped galvanized tubing, at the cost of poorer penetration. Was excited to try BD's stainless wire, but now I'm a bit hesitant. If I do, I will be sure to make sure I've got all my joints as tight as possible before I give it a go.

The nice thing about this purchase was the 2 lovely ladies who delivered the spool to my door. Nice girls. The wire is ok. My welder is a cheap piece of tailor made junk. I'm not a frequent welder, so do not need the best of the best equipment. A spool of wire will last me a couple of years at least.I'm also a student of the Bazooka Joe welding Academy. Bubble gum will get the job done. This wire did spatter more than the roll I replaced. But my liner gave me some trouble when feeding this through. But it all worked out. Flux core welding is more forgiving when it comes to rusty steel. Which is what I work with, because I'm cheap and use the stuff I've had laying around. Good enough for my little projects. Spool also came with a sticker to put on the welder or the helmet... Price was great, even better since Amazon dropped its price 5 bucks AFTER I bought it. :) That's ok, what I paid was still better than other retailers.

Ce produit fonctionne très bien. Le flux est relativement facile à nettoyer puisqu'il n'y a qu'une très mince couche. La soudure semble très forte. Ce produit dégage beaucoup de fumée, veuillez bien aéré.
