Haven't had to use it yet but in a trial run it seems to do the job. Ordered the big, long pole to go with it and the combination is quite heavy. Obviously, this combination is meant to be used by a 25 year old lifeguard and not a 90 year old private citizen. Nevertheless, I will depend on it to fish out any of friends, children or grandchild should the occasion arise.
