Works as described for a much better price. I checked the swimpure software to be sure it met requirements. I had 2 independent tests for salt levels and calibrated the system to those levels. Manufacturer recommends running at about 20% for normal use. Salt measurement is steady, chlorine content in range, water is clear.Update: Finished the second season with this unit. It operated well for two summers now. I was able to run it at about 20% except during the very hot and humid days. The unit was about the same to keep clean as the name brand version. The water chemistry was about the same effort and cost as when using the name brand unit. Given the price difference and the shortage of chlorine products this year, the value of this product is outstanding. My experience has been the name brand cell pays for itself in 2-3 years versus chemicals used to maintain regular chlorinated pools. This unit paid for itself in one year making the out years an incremental cost savings versus a mere cost substitute. When I need to replace the unit I will consider reordering.

I knew my Hayward T-15 chlorinator was going bad because it was showing salt levels significantly below what I was measuring through a test kit and from my local pool company; for a while it was still creating chlorine, but eventually that stopped as well (tried cleaning with muriatric acid and a T-15 Cell stand also purchased through Amazon). The local pool company wanted to charge me $900 for a replacement cell. I found this Blue Works offer on Amazon that was highly rated and shown as a T-15 cell replacement, but the description indicates it only works with Aqua Rite systems with software greater than version 1.5 (manufactured after 2009), and my version was 1.33. However, the description also referred to being a direct replacement of a Hayward cell T-15, and that's what my system was already using. I decided to give it a shot - if it didn't work I would upgrade the Main Board in my Aqua Rite system (also on Amazon for around $200), which would still be cheaper than the OEM version of the chlorinator, and set me up for future chlorinator replacements. The chlorinator arrived quickly and it was a very easy replacement with the connections done by hand. I turned it on and everything started working perfectly. I went to the real time salt reading in the diagnostics of the Aqua Rite and it was showing accurate salt levels, chlorine generation has been great! Very happy with the purchase.I'm not sure why the listing indicates it's only compatible with software versions greater than 1.5. I do know that in older software versions there's not an option to select a "T-15" cell in the diagnostics menu. Instead, you need to select "AL-0". I suspect the seller doesn't want to address questions or troubleshoot issues on the older software versions, so instead has just avoided it by requiring software versions 1.5 and above. Of course, there could be another reason I'm not aware of that I'll find out about down the road, but like I said before, replacing the Main Board would be my solution.

I had a Hayward salt cell on my pool when I bought this house in 2018; This BlueWorks was supposedly the comparable unit. My pool is just under 30,000 gallons and this unit claims to be able to handle a 40,000 gallon pool. The old Hayward had been running for 7 years before it failed, most of that time was before we owned the house. At the time the cost of a Hayward was sky high so I went with this BlueWorks cell (which used to be considerably cheaper) and it was a huge mistake. I have blown through 4 units in the last 3 years, not one of which lasted longer than 9 months - the last unit might have made it 6 weeks before it failed so I have given up on fighting with the manufacturer and the constant tweak/break/fix cycle. They were a pain to maintain as you have to pull them out and use an acid/water mix to clean the buildup off of the plates every 60 days. They run the system ragged because the output is far too low. When your unit fails, you go through this nightmarish process of proving to the manufacturer that it was in fact their cell that failed...every...single...time. I mean video's, emails, tickets...weeks of exchanges because it HAS TO BE your chemicals, your chlorine generator, your fault - before they finally send another cell so assume your pool will be offline for 2-4 weeks when it fails. NOT ONE was even close to lasting through the 2 year warranty. This last time the several month old unit failed I finally proved it was their cell by buying a new Hayward and within 2 days my FC level was back to normal. They sent a replacement which I installed at the end of August - failed within 6 weeks, reinstalled the Hayward. I've had to actually turn the salt generator down multiple times because I was so used to running the cell high just to get acceptable levels of FC the Hayward was pushing out too much chlorine. I have the Hayward running at about "4" right now on my Pentair system...the BlueWorks never ran below 6 and most of the time as it aged I was running it at 9 or 10. The last one wasn't even outputting chlorine when in Super Chlorinate mode. GARBAGE and their support is horrendous. Do not waste your money on this unit.
